Chapter 6

I stood up quickly from the couch looking for my purse and putting my heels back on one at a time. I then looked in my purse desperately wanting to find my keys. It seemed like my keys were hiding from me because the more i looked, the more difficulty i had to find them.
I then saw Austin getting up from his spot in the couch and slowly walking over to me as i continued to search for my keys. Austin finally approached me, holding my body closer to his as he wrapped his arms around my waist leaning closer and whispering in my ear causing me to shake a little due to how nervous i was.
"Why do you wanna go? Dont you like being with me?"
Unable to function properly i just responded the first thing that came to my head, and of course instead of blaming myself for having to leave i felt more comftorable blaming my mom. "It's not that Austin, i have to get home, my mom should be getting home soon and i don't want her asking questions."
Austin looked at me questiongly not knowing wether to believe me or not, i was praying he did.
Austin finally spoke again "Okay fine, but at least let me drive you home."
I questioned his proposal
"Uhmm i drove here myself so how exactly would that work out?"
"You don't live very far, so i'll drive your car and then walk back."
He seemed pretty convinced about his idea, but i didn't i felt like i just needed some time alone to think about all that happened tonight.
"Thanks Austin, but i'm good, i can drive home by myself."
Austin was very stubborn and he refused to take no for an answer
"Listen, you stayed here with me for a while, the least i can do is drive you home, i'm not taking no for an answer."
There really was no point in arguing with Austin, he seemed to have his mind set on this and he didn't look like he was planning to change it anytime soon.
"Fine Austin you can drive me home."
A smile curved upon Austin's face as those words left my mouth.
"Okay lets go!"
I could sense the happiness and excitement in his voice. He quickly took the keys from my hand and motioned me to follow him outside to my car. I waited for him to get his own house keys so we could be on our way. We walked outside to where the car was parked, the night was darker than it appeared to be before, not even the light of the moon was enough to clearly see. Once Austin and i found our way to the car he rushed over to the passenger's side and opened my door for me, talk about courteous. Once i was buckled and seated Austin headed to the driver's seat and hopped in the car. He put the keys in the ignition and began driving. As he drove it was pretty silent, all i could do was look out the window into the darkness of the night.
"So, where do you live?" Austin questioned to get rid of the awkward silence between us.
"Oh, umm just go 6 blocks straight and take a left and then a right."
Austin followed my instructions and kept driving how i instructed. After a few more seconds of awkward silence he spoke again.
"Why are you so quiet?"
I was caught off guard by his question "what do you mean?"

"You know, you weren't that quiet back at my place, why now?"

"Ohh i don't know"

"Don't you like talking to me?"
Austin questioned

"It's not that, i'm just very confused."

"About what? Our kiss?"

My cheeks blushed a bright pink as soon as Austin brought up the kiss causing me to immediately look down in embarrasment.
"Baby, don't be embarrased, to tell you the truth i really enjoyed feeling your lips on mine." Austin gave me a quick glance followed by a wink as he continued driving. The embarrasment rushed through my entire body, i had no words to say. I decided to just stay quiet for the rest of the ride, we were almost at my house, but this 5 minute drive with Austin seemed like hours.
We finally arrived to my house, all the lights were off so i was assuming my mom was still at work.
I was unbuckling myself from my seat, as was Austin. I opened the door and stepped out of the neatly parked vehicle. Austin followed my actions and got out of the car.
I thanked Austin for driving and started walking to my porch.
"WAIT MICHAELA!"
I immediately turned back to face Austin.
"Yeah?"
He began walking towards ne causing me to become nervous all over again.
"You forgot your keys, how else are you supposed to get in your house?"
I felt so stupid, about to walk in my house without my keys, i guess i was just trying to get away from Austin at the time.
"Thanks"
I then turned and continued walking towards my house when i felt a grip wrap around my arm causing me to turn and see Austin grabbing my arm.
"What is it Austin?"

"Can i see you again tommorow?"

I instantly froze not knowing what to do.

"Michaela!" Austin loudly said as he waved his hand in front of my face causing me to snap out of the trance i was in.
"What?! Uhm yeah sure."

Austin smiled and slowly leaned in. He grabbed my face and slowly tilted my chin up giving me a light gentle kiss in my lips.
"i'll see you tommorow."

"See you tommorow Austin."
Austin and i departed and started heading in opposite directions, i headed up my porch to get in my house and Austin started slowly walking back to his own house. I fumbled with my keys trying to find the right key, i inserted the metal key into the hole, then i turned the knob, opened the door and headed in closing the door behind me. I dropped my purse on the floor and headed to my room and into my bathroom to take off my makeup and go to bed.

As i washed my face, removing the make up from each of my eyes i looked at myself in the mirror, questioning everything that had happened tonight. Its like when i looked in the mirror i saw a different person. I put on my pajama shorts, a tank top and brushed my long brown hair. I then headed out of my bathroom and threw myself on my bed, as i lay on my bed the thought of Austin and our kiss kept replaying in my mind, a million questions spinning around my brain, why did this happen? Did i want this to happen? Did i like it? Unable to come up with an answer to myself made me frustrated.
I continued to lay in my bed, the room was pretty dark, the only light was the street lights that surpassed my open window, suddenly i heard my phone vibrate, i reached for it to see the new message.

From: Mom
"Hey hunny, busy day at the hospital, i probably won't be home till morning, help yourself to anything in the fridge."

Well this sucks, i'm stuck alone for the rest of the night and the only thing i can pretty much do is sleep or watch tv, talk about boring.

I rose from my bed and headed downstairs to the kitchen to make myself a sandwich. As i stood over the counter spreading peanut butter on my bread the thought came back to my mind, Austin's moist lips on mine, savoring the taste of his tongue as he did mine. Snapping out of my la la land i put the peanut butter back in the fridge and headed to the couch in the living room with my sandwich. I turned on the tv and mean girls was on. yay, i love this movie! Regina George reminded me alot about Harley and Aaron Samuels reminded me of Austin, he was so cute and smart and flirty like Austin.
I continued to watch the movie and laugh at how ridiculous everything was. I then heard my phone vibrate again, i glanced at the screen to see a message
From: Austin
I opened the message and read it
"Don't ask questions, just leave the door open NOW PLEASE!"
I was a bit frightened by the message, i immediately thought Austin was in some sort of trouble so i got up from the couch and unlocked the front door.
Just about 30 seconds later the door opened, austin ran in out of breath and he quickly closed the door behind him and locked it.

"Austin? What the hell?!"
