i could not believe my eyes, oh my god!

What the hell is Austin doing here? i immediately panick, not for me, but for Alex, i dont want Austin to think theres anything going on between us. I look up to meet Austin's gaze.His eyes lock directly to mine and i feel the spark between us again.
'SNAP OUT OF IT MICHAELA' i say to myself subconsciously 'HE CHEATED ON YOU.'

Just that thought was able to bring me back to my normal state of mind and remind me that im furious with Austin right now. As my brain is arguing back and forth Austin approaches my table and takes the empty seat across from me. I instantly come to my feet and he does the same.

"Michaela, please, cant we talk about this?" he says softly

"NO!" i respond "i told you Austin, theres nothing to talk about, youve made it obvious who you want to be with."

i could sense people around the coffee shop staring and listening in on our conversation but i just ignored it.

i decide to take a deep breath and calm down to avoid making a scene in front of people.

i sigh as i sit back down, Austin then copies my actions.

"why are you here Austin?" i ask

he looks at me "i always come here with Alex but he said he was busy today, i didnt expect to see you here."

well, i do not wanna see the look on his face when he realizes i am here with Alex, i glance over and i see that Alex is now ordering and it shouldnt be long before he gets back. i turn back to look at Austin.

"Austin..." my voice is shaky

"yes?." he replies with such anticipation in his voice probably thinking im gonna forgive him!

i sigh looking down at my fingers "please leave me alone and dont talk to me again, im asking you as nicely as i can." my voice is still shaky and i feel like i want to cry but strangely i dont.

i look up at Austin and he looks torn "Michaela please, i promise you things arent how they seem, Harley kissed me, i pushed her away, i swear to you."

How more pathetic can he get, does he really expect me to believe that?

"Austin" i whisper still not looking him in the eyes "im not stupid, i know what i saw in that picture, it was pretty clear."

"it was all Harley's plan to ruin our relationship michaela, dont you see it?"

thats it, i cant take his lies anymore, at this moment i dont even wanna look at him or hear his voice.

"just leave Austin, dont make this lie any bigger, lets just leave things how they are, theyre better off that way anyway."

"bu- but" he stutters "i wanna be with you michaela, dont you understand that?"

"BUT I DONT WANNA BE WITH YOU, DONT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT AUSTIN, I DONT WANNA HEAR YOU AND I DONT WANNA SEE YOU?!?!"

my voice was loud and assertive but i think thats what i needed to get the message across to Austin.

He looks at me and his expression is unreadable. As hes about to walk away i see Alex walking back to the table.
oh no! this is gonna get ugly!

"here's your coffee michaela." he says handing me my drink

At that moment Austin turns around quickly and looks at Alex.

"What are you doing here?" Austin asks

Alex seems caught off guard and he quickly looks at Austin.
he looks nervous.

"i...um, im here with michaela?"

i immediately look down

"Alex, youre supposed to be my best friend, why are you taking my girlfriend out."

I could sense the anger in austin's voice and i couldnt help but feel bad for Alex, theyre best friends, i dont wanna be the one to ruin their friendship.

"from what ive heard shes not your girlfriend anymore so it shouldnt bother you, right?"

"well, it does bother me!"

"since when have you cared about one of your girlfriends?" Alex remarks "Last time i checked, never!"

"so youre taking your chance to get with her?" Austin replies

"Were here as friends." Alex says "just friends."

Austin stays quiet and doesnt say a thing Alex.

He then looks at me. his eyes look furious piercing through mine.

"Why are you here with him?" he asks

"why should it matter to you, we're not together and last time i checked, im allowed to have friends." i spat

he looks at me shaking his head in dissapointment but never taking his eyes off mine

"what?!" i say

"you break up with me and now youre out with my best friend, youre just like Harley."

As those words escape his mouth he sparks a reaction, my blood is fuming, how dare he say that to me. i immediately get up from my seat, and throw my coffee all over him and slap him across the face hard. i knew people were watching but i dont care, he literally took it too far this time.

"dont you even dare compare me to her, me and her are nothing alike. and dont you ever look for me again, i hate you so much!!!."

i stormed out of the coffee shop furious.

Alex just stays there and looks at Austin "bro, that was not cool, why would you say that to her?"

Austin stands there angry and in embarrasment and Alex runs out of the coffee shop after me.

Im running aways as fast as i can and i dont know where im going, its still raining and i can feel the tears streaming down my face. How dare Austin say that to me. I have no idea where i am. I feel lost with no direction to go. As i continue running without stopping i hear Alex behind me.

"Michaela!"

i keep running and i dont stop until i suddenly feel him grab my hand pulling me back to his embrace.

"leave me alone." i cry

"Michaela, you know Austin didnt mean what he said ."

"he still said it." i reply

"he said it out of anger, i know he didnt mean it."

i wipe the tears away "it doesnt matter if he meant it or not, he still said it and it hurts."

Alex wipes my tears away and he hugs me "its ok, you and i both know youre nothing like that."

we stand there quiet as i give into his embrace.

"i should probably get you home and out of the rain, i dont want you getting sick."

"yeah" i say softly. "that sounds like a good idea."
