Chapter 12

I was driving home, and as I was, I was just thinking of how weird this was.
I mean, what am I doing with the school hottie / jerk? What am I going to tell Danielle? So many questions went through my head, but alot of positive thoughts as well. Austin was actually so nice and so sweet, I don't know how that bitch Harley could have taken him for granted... He is such a good guy under all of that bull shit he pulls off at school.
As I am thinking about all of this, I forget that I am driving, and my car hits some kind of really big bump. It scares me to death, so I go out to check if all of the tires are still ok. Not piped or anything, I go to the first tire, fine. Second tire, fine. Third tire, EEWWWW!!!!! Dead raccoon! Dead raccoon in my tire!!! Ugh!! Only to me this would happen!! "I'm sorry Mister Raccoon, I didn't mean to run you over, I just was thinking too much, and I kinda...just.....took your life. Goodbye."
And at that, I get back in my car and drive off.

When i arrive home i was so tired, i had a long day and i didnt have energy to do anything else, i quickly changed back into my pajamas threw my hair in a messy bun and jumped into bed. the thought of Austin kept coming to my head, why cant i get him off my mind? my sub concious is snoozing unable to come up with any sort of explainable answer. i lay in my bed looking up at my ceiling just thinking about everything thats happened and even though i was mad at a point im glad it did happen. just as i was beggining to doze off into my dreams the marimba tone on my phone went off, DAMN! whos texting me at this time, it better not be danielle. i lazily pick up my phone and turn it on, with one eye open trying to adjust my vision to the light i see a text from Austin

from: Austin

thanks for an unforgettable evening, i hope you made it home safe, i cant wait to see your beautiful face tommorow, good night baby x

a huge grin came upon my face as i re-read that text again and again to make sure i wasnt dreaming, i then hit reply to text him back

to: Austin

it was quite unforgettable for me too, see you tommorow, good night :)

and with that last message i turned off my phone and fell almost instantly into a nice relaxing sleep.

morning came and strangely, even though i only got a few hours of sleep i felt surprisingly awake and full of energy. i step out of my bed and into my bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth, i make sure to bring ny phone with me. as i brush my teeth i unlock my phone to see if i have any new messages or calls, as a matter of fact i had two new messages, my lips formed into a smile when i realized one of the texts was from Austin.

Good Morning sleepyhead, i hope you slept well, ill be over to pick you up at 1, i cant wait (:

i look over at my alarm clock to realize its barely 10 am, ok i have plenty of time to get ready. i check my other message and its from danielle, SHIT! i hope she doesnt wanna hang out, i know i sound like a bad friend but i already made plans with Austin and i didnt wanna cancel on him. i open the message nervously

from: Danielle

hey michaela, what do you say we hang out today, maybe go see a movie or something?

damn! what am i gonna tell her? and suddenly the lightbulb went on! i know! ill just delete the message and act like i never got it she'll never know and if i dont reply it wont necessarily be lying to her. i quickly hit the "edit" button and deleted danielle's message.
what is happening to me, i would never have done that to my best friend but i am dumbfounded by Austin Mahone, he makes me do stupid things, i smile as memories from last night pop into my head.

i leave the bathroom and enter my bedroom, i decide to clean up a bit and make things look tidy so my mom wont have lots to do. once my room looks clean i run downstairs to where my mom had prepared me scrambled eggs, some bacon and a glass of orange juice, great! i could go for some food right now

"so how did you handle being alone last night hunny?" my mom asks as we eat breakfast

"it wasnt too great mom, i just ate a sandwich, watched some tv and fell asleep, pretty boring if you ask me."

"well why didnt yu invite over danielle, you know i dont mind her, shes like a daughter to me."
i couldnt tell my mom that i was running back and forth from austin's house and thats why i lied to danielle about being at the movies with her

"oh she was busy, her mom is ill and she was taking care of her."

"oh darling i hope shes okay, i should call her and make sure everything's fine-"

"DONT!!" i yelled as my mom oicked up her cell phone

"why not michaela, i am a nurse, im pretty sure i can help."

"its not that its just uhhmm" shit, i needed to come up with something fast begore my mom called danielle's house.

"theyre phone isnt working, danielle told me they were having problems with the signal but i think a technician should be over today to fix it."

"oh really?" my mother asked worriedly, "well, i hope shes okay, when you see danielle tell her that if she needs anything to just ask."

"ill make sure to tell her mom."

the rest of breakfast i just kept askng my mom questions about her job so she would stop asking about danielle, when i finally got my chance i decided to ask about Austin.

"oh mom i need to ask you something.."

"go ahead hunny." she said sweetly

"well, this guy named Austin invited me to the movies today, can i go?" i put on my most convincing puppy dog eyes

my mother laughed "hunny of course you can go, you know i trust you, ill just have to meet the young man first."

"REALLY MOM? thank you so much" i hugged her tightly and then ran upstairs to get ready

i was having a major dilemma on what to wear but i finally decided on some light colored slightly pre ripped skinny jeans, a white tank top and red cardigan amd red vans. i left my hair down in long waves and applied some mascara and some light pink blush. i checked myself out in the mirror one last time. damn! i look good if i do say so myself. i took a look at my alarm clock, 12:59 it read and my heart started pounding faster, oh my god austin should be here any minute.

at that instant i heard the doorbell and i felt like my heart was in my mouth, i was so nervous, hopefully my mom liked austin.

i heard my mom yell "Michaela hunny, its for you!"

i took one last deep breath and scurried down. when i got downstairs i saw austin sitting in the living room couch with my mom, they were laughing, who knows what on earth they were discussing. i walk into the living room and they both stand and look at me, austin's mouth drops slightly open, he didnt look that bad himself he was wearing a plain red shirt, some dark blue skinny jeans, some red nikes and a black beanie. god im a sucker for guys in beanies.

"michaela sweetheart i was just having a talk with your boyfriend and hes so sweet, you got yourself a nice, respectful young man."

i blushed "oh mom, hes not my boyf-"

"hey babe." austin interrupted as he walked over to me and gave me a gentle kiss on the cheek, and wrap his arm around me.

"well, i wont keep you kids waiting, go out and have fun, just be back by 9."

austin took my moms hand and gave her a light kiss. "dont worry mrs.wilson, ill have her back before 9."

"oh please sweetheart, call me Nicole." my mom smiled

"ok, nicole." austin replied as he gave my mom one last assurance that he would take care of me

i was still in shock at how good my mom and austin were getting along this was just too good to be true, and what? he told my mom hes my boyfriend. wow! that seems weird, i didnt hesistate to contradict him so i just stood quiet and smiled.

we walked towards the door, austin never removing his arm from around me, i gave my mom a light kiss on the cheek "have fun sweetheart." she said sweetly as she kissed my cheek too. and with that i grabbed my house keys and Austin and i headed out into his red range rover.
