She didn't even butter to look where the man sat. She just walked out but in her hopes, she knew he heard her request for a nurse to be with warris and Janna while she was away. She also hoped he heared it was a male nurse.
Janna had told her to take her time but really, she didn't feel it was the best to wast any more time, she needed to know what was in that stereo, if it was anything to do with what had happened then she will call the police, if it wasn't, she had to find away to make Daco's mother know she hadn't lie on him.Surprisingly, the drive from the hospital to warris was not that long.
Getting down the car, she scanned the surrounding, it was quite.
What she always complained about to warris, his apartment was one with all the old people, not old but grown ups, people with families, busy working life's. To her, it wasn't the right place for a teenager but warris felt it was very okay. He always told her, he loved the place basically because everyone minded their business. The front of his apartment had tapes crisscrossed around the front with indication of a crime scene.
She walked slowly, through the spaces between the tapes and to the door, she felt scared, felt like if she got in there, she will see another warris half dead by the stereo, that stereo, that was her reason for coming. Her feelings were not at its best, she most insist warris moved when he was ok and out of hospital. She got in, walked to the stereo and put it on, after a little pause, she pressed the button, the button warris had his finger on when she had seen him.
She heard the voice, it was warris, there was a little bit of noise before she heard him talk again.
The conversation was just about to roll in just then, a knock came at the door. She froze.Other than the officer and Janna, no one, no body knew she had come to the house, she couldn't remember seen any neighbor when she drove in or even when she looked around, if it was the officer coming to join her to listen to the stereo, he would have told her, called her. It couldn't be Janna.
Her mind kept wondering, thinking who it could possibly, be and the knock came a second time, louder.
Tina got out her phone immediately and text Janna
Tina: Janna, there's someone knocking at the door, I don't know who, but I want to check who knows, maybe the person knows something and may help us, on the other thought.......wait like five minutes then text back, if I don't reply, then call the police at once. She hit send, putting the phone on vibration, she put it in her pocket.
Don't panic, don't panic. She sang in her head.
The knock came a third time, louder than before, she was scared, even to move towards the door, she was scared. Quickly, pulling her blouse down, hoping it covered the plug in her pocket.
She opened the door...."May I........." she froze.
"A great deal.....pls be nice and let me in"
She couldn't say a word, he held out a gun, right in front of her.
She stepped back as he pushed the door and walked in.He walked in slightly, looking round the room like he had known it too well, he turned to a point stocked Tina,
"shut the door" he ordered offering her a small smile.
She obeyed."Lock it" he said as he walked in.
Her mind travelled, those years she lived with her dad, those she had lived with her night mare she called a father, those nights he will come back drunk, she will wait for him and get tired and sleep off. Her mom did thesame, she had started drinking even before her dad, but he loved her,it was after she had gone off with one of her drunken masters and never returned, her dad took over, but his was worst, he passed his anger on her, he beat her and cursed her, she grow to hate him. Those nights if she sleeps off and he came back late and knocked more than once, he will beat her when she finally opened the door.
She had gotten used to it, he'll tell her to lock the door when he got in, he stood and watched her as she did so, but with time, she grow wiser, she had ran off to her anti once, but he came for her, he came and took her back and her anti could do nothing, but they had a plan. The only thing she had to do was run off and call her anti when he was at it, and her anti will call the police for assault. Her anti had told her what to do when he told her to lock the door, she had done it and it worked, to her, it always worked.
