Prayer Chain

As my life

Crumbled around me

I begged for help

In any way I knew how

The worse it got

I realized I needed

Divine intervention

So through Facebook

I asked friends

And complete strangers to

Pray for me

Little did I know that

My simple request

Would start

A prayer chain

That stretched around the globe

Regardless of religion

All I asked for was a prayer

To survive

Another moment

Another hour

Another day

The word went out

And it was as if I felt

Each person's prayer

Become a lightbulb

First in America

Then overseas

The prayer chain

Grew larger more

Profound as it

Started to circle the globe

North and South America

Europe

Asia

Middle-East

Australia

Almost all of

The continents

Lit up like lightening bugs

As each person

Clasped their hands together

Closed their eyes

And sent healing words

Into the universe

Jews

Christians

Catholics

Buddhists

Hindus

Muslims

Wiccans

Agnostics

Atheists

All and then some

Made the

Prayer chain

Iron clad

Stronger then steel

And the strongest

Material in the universe

It is with the international

Prayer chain

That I am able to

Put one foot in front of the other

And start living

Instead of just existing

G-d Bless

All those whose prayers

Linked together

To form an impenetrable

Barrier of hope and faith

That continues to this day

And beyond
