With a twist
Is always fun
Especially with something
Never done before
Guests arrive
Looking hungry
Nerves jangle a bit
Hope that this latest
Masterpiece
Is delicious
Known as the
Marinating Queen
In my family
When it comes to
All things
BBQ
Pork, chicken, ribs, even fish
Spices galore
As I whip up
The latest concoction
Must be juicy
Must be cooked
Must be finger licking good
Orgasmic
As a friend would say
When I start opening
Bottles and cans
To make a dry rub
Injection
Pour a little bit of wine here
A bit of juice there
Noses start going
Eyes begin glowing
The job has begun
For this chef of sorts
I love to do this
For others to taste my food
Because I have free reign
Over the ingredients
Making something
Out of nothing
Got addicted to the show
BBQ Pitmasters
And took a recipe of a legend
For my rack of ribs
And made it my own
That's what soul food really is
