*Dedicated to Felix Lev-Ari.*
No matter what
The problem was
Can't eat
Can't walk
Can't move
Can't breatheHe would always say
You must
Inch forward
Just an inch a day
When it was really bad
Then just
A centimeterIf I said I live
A day at a time
Sometimes an hour
He would just say
Inch forward
Slow and steady
Wins the raceThen there would be
Jokes and laughter
So I could
Inch forward
Smiling
Even though all
I did was cry
Or want toAnd that's what I learned
Through the horror of my
Medical crash
That no matter what
I had to
Inch forwardBecause that day
Would pass
Become the past
And a new one would come
I was never one to look
At the past
I have always lived with
No regretsNothing ever
Because every experience
Good
Bad
Horrible
Is a lesson learned
To make someone strongerMentally
Emotionally
And spirituallyEvery day I face an unknown
But I am a warrior
It was not my time to die
That afternoon on July 31st 2015
Though how very close it came
So now I inch forwardG-d bless you
Felix for helping
Me find exactly what I needed
Regardless of hardshipWill continue to
Inch forward
Until the battle is won
