Chapter 8

Their family reunion was fun that I enjoyed it kahit hindi ako belong sa family nila. Pero pinagpipilitan sa'kin ni Mamita na parte na ako ng pamilya lalo na't kasal na kami ni Chanyeol. Honestly, I was surprised.. to myself for not knowing how to react to that. Usually, I will frown, feel irritated and disgusted everytime I'm reminded about our marriage. Pero ngayon..

"Jae!"

"Huh?", I absent-mindedly said upon hearing someone call my name and turned to where he is. He still have that delightful smile on his face but this time, dumoble na. Kailan pa siya nakaupo dito sa tabi ko?

"You've been spacing out for a while, is everything okay?", he asked with a hint of worriedness in his deep voice. Tumango ako.

"Yeah, everything's fine. It's just fun to watch how every member of your family and relatives are close with one another. 'Yung sa'min kasi.. ewan ko. Ni hindi ko sila kilala", I said and gave him a tight smile before returning my gaze to the people in front of us who are enjoying the company of everyone. Sa ngayon kasi, nasa may bandang bukana ako papasok sa loob ng mansion nila habang pinanonood ang mga tao. Nagpaiwan ako sa pwestong 'to kasi 'yung mga kasama ko kanina ay naki-join sa sayawang nagaganap sa gitna ng bakuran nila ngayon. Ang loner ko ba? 'Di bale na, maganda naman ako.

"Mas lalo ko tuloy na-miss si Seb..", bulong ko sa sarili at napabuntong-hininga. Bigla namang tumikhim itong katabi ko kaya tumingin ako sa kanya at nakitang wala na ang ngiti niya.

"What's with you and Seb?", biglang tanong niya. Should I tell him? Wala naman kaming ginagawa ngayon eh, kaya okay lang siguro kahit konting story telling.

"Well, Sungkyu--"

"What the? And who the heck is Sungkyu, this time? Meron ka pa bang ibang lalaki?", pagpuputol niya sa sinasabi ko habang nakakunot pa ang noo. Hinampas ko siya sa braso.

"Pwede bang makinig ka nga muna? At anong ibig mong sabihin na meron pa akong lalaki? Sungkyu is the guy you've met at the lobby of the condominium and Sebastian or Seb is his nickname that I've given to him. Okay na?" Tinitigan niya ako sa mata, naniniguro ata kung totoo ang sinabi ko which is totoo naman talaga. When I think he's finally convinced, he slouched on his chair and crossed his arms. Maybe that's a sign that I may continue my story.

"Mom and Dad have always been busy ever since I was little. Sometimes they don't have much time to be with me but they're strict when it comes to my welfare and safety. Hindi nila ako hinayaang makisalamuha sa ibang mga taong nasa labas ng mansion kapag hindi ko sila kasama maliban na lang sa school. Mabuti na lang at dumating si Sungkyu."

"Malayong-malayo namin siyang kamag-anak but his parents are a close friend of Dad. Kaya nung mamatay ang parents niya due to an accident, Dad didn't hesitate to take him home and that's the time I first met him. He was the only person that I had back then. The only friend, my bestest friend since I was five years old up until now. But when he turned thirteen, he insisted to be atleast my butler as a sign of gratitude to my parents for taking care of him. Mom and Dad didn't agree pero ni-push pa rin niya ang pagiging butler ko kaya ayun", I narrated with a smile. Chanyeol stared at me for a while before he spoke up, his question ruining the mood of my reminiscense.

"Hindi ka ba.. na-inlove sa kanya?", nag-aalangang tanong niya habang 'di malaman kung saan ba siya titingin. Siguro dahil awkward.. na awkward naman talaga.

"Ano?", hindi makapaniwalang tanong ko. Saan naman daw ba niya nakuha ang ideyang 'yan?

"I-I mean, you've been together for a while tapos lagi pa kayong magkasama sa mansion niyo, diba? Wala ka man lang b-bang naging.. umm.. more than a bestfriend feeling t-towards him?", mautal-utal niyang tanong. Tinitigan ko siya with a straight face sabay hagalpak ng tawa.
