Sophie's POV

Nationals were approaching and I had made up my mind ages ago, I was going to be going. Coach knew this and he left me in the relay teams. My Mom was desperately trying to be Lucas and I to start to get along again but I wasn't going to forgive him.

Lucas was sitting on the opposite side of the bench to me. I was eating my breakfast but he was staring at me.

"Do you mind?" I snapped.

"Why were you friends with them?" he sneered.

I rolled my eyes and left the bench when I heard the doorbell ring. Belle was standing there and I was so thankful. I followed her out to her car were the boys were already. Austin was sitting in the shot gun and Carter had stretched on the back. Since he didn't get up when he saw me I sat on his feet.

Will and Henry were sitting outside when we got there. Belle grabbed both my shoulders and pushed me towards my locker. Carter and Austin stood on either side so that I couldn't escape.

"You guys trust me so much," I moaned in a joking tone.

My locker opened and I noticed a smell. At the back behind my textbooks was a pile of rotten apples. It had a note attached to it.

I hope you realise that we are the popular group and you can't mess with us

I wasn't stupid. I recognised Katy's handwriting. They probably bribed someone else to do it. I grabbed all the fruit and dropped into the bin. Katy smirked at me when I walked past.

"You are lucky that you don't have fruit on you," I whispered.

She visibly teased up beside me and I laughed. The rest of her group glared at me and I walked off.

Clearly life was angry because luck was not on my side. I still had ten minutes before class started and I ran into Theresa.

"Looks what the cat dragged in," she sneered.

"I came back for my family," I snapped.

"I don't care. You aren't welcome here," she laughed.

"And I'm not listening to your shit."

"You don't have to but if you ever don't listen to me again you will regret it."

She then turned and walked away. I stood there in stunned silence as my friends rushed over from collect their stuff from their locker. Belle wrapped one arm around me and we headed to my class.

Will and Henry were having a very angry discussion. Henry noticed me and they shut up. Will's hands were clenched under the desk and he was scowling. I didn't say anything, instead I just sat down. Katy and Christina were gossiping from their seats but they kept glancing over at me. I was glad when Mrs Simpson came in and stopped everyone from talking.

"We are going to start a new group project. In our groups you are going to create a poster on this novel. It is the last activity on this novel. You must include a new cover, front and back, a plot summary, character description and a report about the morals of the story," she said.

"We can do it at my place," Henry suggested and I nodded.

"How about we start tonight?" I said knowing that they don't have training.

Belle knew that I was going to Henry's place so she walked past me at the end of the day. Henry and Will both came out at the same time and we headed to Henry's place in silence. His Mother was home with his two brothers.

"Who's this?" one of the boys asked.

"I'm Sophie," I said.

"I'm Thomas and this is Sam," the other said and I nodded.
