Emily's POV

It's been exactly 34 days since the incident with Sophie. The reason I know is because that day she disappeared. I happened to know that her other friends also split from her because she was friends with us. That day she disappeared. At first I thought that she just stopped coming to swim training but then I never saw her and she is no longer at school.

Will has turned into this shell. He used to have this personality that he would project to people that he was dark and moody but if you got to know him then you found out that he wasn't like that. Recently though he has been like that all the time. Not even Henry can get him to talk to us.

I know that he has been spending a lot more time at the pool and just swimming length after length. I was talking to Coach yesterday and he said that he has seen Will at the pool every day for at least 4 hours.

I was sitting next to Will and I was trying to get him to talk but he wasn't saying anything.

"Will, come on," I said aloud.

He turned and looked at me. I actually looked terrible. His eyes didn't have the same sparkle in them. Instead of being like liquid chocolate, they looked flat.

"You know you can give up on me too," he said.

I hadn't heard him say anything for at least a week and I was surprised at how broken he sounded. I didn't know how to respond to that and I didn't say anything.

I don't know that much about Will's life outside of school and swimming. I know that Henry and Sophie both do because the three of them were really close. From what I have gathered I would guess that he doesn't have a safe life and from the comment he just made I would guess that he feels like everyone has left him.

Will wasn't even sitting with us at lunch. He had left as soon as the bell went and I didn't have time to stop him. I tried to follow him but he disappeared into the crowds of people. I gave up quickly and headed towards the cafeteria like everyone else. Henry sighed when he realised that I wasn't with Will.

"I wish that he would just talk to us about anything," he said.

We dropped the subject of Will for a while and started to talk about Nationals. It is only three weeks away and I am really excited for it. Halfway through lunch someone came and sat next to me. Will sat down and everyone turned to look at him. He didn't say anything so we just continued on with our discussion.

Will's POV

I grabbed my bag out of the locker and headed to the pool. We didn't have training after school. I put my headphones and ignored everyone pouring out of the school. I had found myself a pair of headphones that I can use while swimming. It means that I can have music playing while I am swimming.

I saw Coach when I headed into the pool. He looked at me but I continued to walk into the changing rooms. It didn't take me long to change so I was in the pool in minutes. There were a few people there as well so I jumped into the lane that had one other swimmer that was swimming at a relatively fast pace.

When I got out three hours later Henry was waiting for me on the side but he wasn't in togs so I knew that he wanted to talk to me.

"Man, what's happened to you?" he asked and followed me into the changing rooms.

"I don't want to talk about it," I said without turning to face him.

"I've given you a month, I want my best friend back," he said.

"You don't get it do you?"

"I get the fact that you still aren't over Sophie, face it, she's not coming back."
