Obstacles and Barriers

New start

I'm so sorry I didn't update yesterday, I had so much homework to do I could only finish half this chapter. But I've finished it now - hope you like it! I'm not sure whether to carry on this story or not, please leave your thoughts in the comments, it would be really helpful! xx

It was a few days later, and Connie visited Jacob at least twice a day, not much happened as Jacob was so tired he drifted in and out of sleep regularly, Connie by his side. She was so grateful, he had saved her life, she needed to find a way to repay him.

The day had arrived that Jacob could go home. Connie was so happy, she had a surprise lined up for when they got home.

As Jacob woke, Connie said; "Alright babe?"

"Can I go home yet?" Jacob muttered.

"Not yet, but in a few hours. Can we have a chat?" Connie needed to run something past Jacob.

Jacob nodded.

"I think we should tell people about us." Connie blurted out, anxious for her response.

"You have no idea how much I wanted you to say that!" Jacob said, sitting up and kissing Connie on the lips.

They arranged how they were going to tell the others, they wanted to make a big impact but not tell them outright, that would be too awkward.

The time came for Jacob to go home, they decided to make their big impact as they left the hospital.

Jacobs arm in a small bandage now, and the other round Connie's waist. 

They both took a deep breath and walked through the ED, arm in arm. They stopped in front of most the staff, and Jacob kissed Connie passionately.

The staff looked shocked, but they were pleased for them, they could tell they were happy.

"Oh my god, Jacobs softened Connie!" Rita said, genuinely shocked

"I never thought that was possible" Robyn added.

But you know what? Connie and Jacob couldn't care less. They loved each other, and that's all that mattered to them.

They walked out of the busy ED hand in hand, grinning from ear to ear.

Connie helped Jacob into the car, after Jacob arguing 'he could do it himself' despite the fact he was incapable of putting a seatbelt on!

It was only 5 minutes into their journey that Jacob noticed something was wrong.

"Con, where are we going? We've passed both our houses" Jacob asked, still holding Connie's free hand

"You'll see.." Connie replied, with a smirk on her face. Jacob was baffled, but kept quiet.

5 minutes later, Connie pulled up at a fancy gate, entered a code and drove down a never ending driveway. They finally arrived at the most beautiful house, Jacob had never seen a house so gorgeous.

"Connie, what are we doing here?" Jacob finally asked, stunned by this gorgeous house.

Connie said nothing as she got out of the car, and gestured to Jacob to follow her. She unlocked the door, to reveal a stunning hallway, a chandelier, spiral staircase, and a small glimpse of the stunning modern kitchen. Jacob was speechless. He had never seen anything so beautiful

"I still haven't thanked you for saving my life" Connie finally said, after taking in the view herself.

As Jacob went to speak, Connie spoke over him.

"This is my thank you Jacob, and before you start talking about money, I don't care. You saved my life, and I would do anything to repay you." Connie was proud of herself, she was finally going for it, she was letting go.

"You mean?.." Jacob started

"Yes. This is ours. We can start our new life, right here." Connie was so excited for her fresh start with Jacob.

"Connie, I can't take this, you must have spent a fortune!" Jacob felt so guilty.

"I said not to go on about money. But don't start feeling guilty, you will be paying half the bills, they are expensive, even for me! And before you say you can't afford it, I've given you a pay rise. Me being your boss and that. You will have to work harder though, I don't want complaints about favouritism!" Connie was so happy.

Before Connie could say anymore, Jacob pulled her closer and kissed her like he never had. He loved Connie more than anything.

After they finally broke apart, Jacob added;

"Well if our new life starts right here, I think I might have to change that location!" Jacob grinned, as Connie followed him up the spiral staircase to their new bedroom.
