COOPER
She was still asleep, thankfully. The bruise grew more and more purple with every passing minute but I couldn't let that effect my decision on what to do next.
I decided it was best to keep driving acting as if everything was fine, even thought it isn't. Then I saw the familiar glow of red and blue lights down the hill and through the trees. Eyeing Sophia and the bump that protruded from her head I decided I needed to hide her but could I be that horrible person that throws someone in a trunk?
Josh
"We are engaged and her father isn't even in the country." I tried to explain.
"There must be someone..." She says eyeing me up and down.
"She has no other family only me and her father." I say in the calmest voice I could muster.
"Well I will go ask the doctor what they decide and if they feel you can go back there then..."
"Tell them I love her and I need to see her." I say right before the door closes on her.
Cooper
"Hello officers." I say while attempting to swallow the frog in my throat.
"Sir do you have your license and registration?" The younger of the two men ask.
Who knew it took two people to question one man.
"Yes. Its right here." I say after reaching in my glove box and handing them the appropriate paperwork. "Everything ok?"
"There was a girl that was missing but they may have just found her. You wouldn't know anything about that would ya?" The older of the men ask through the passenger's side window.
"Yeah it's my friend Gabi. I came to help with the search." I say trying to look inconspicous.
"They found er' up that there hill." The man standing next to me says all the while pointen a finger south.
"I'm so glad. " I scream as if finding out for the first time she was safe.
"The sherriff didn't give you a radio or nothin'?" The older of the men chimed in a frown plaster on his hairy lips.
"He said he was out." I said with a shrug.
"Ight' well the hospitals up that there street bout three miles ya can't miss it." He says finally grinning a bit.
"Thank you, thank you." I said. "I almost got lost down there but now that shes found..."
"Go on up. We are glad you're friend is safe." He said after handing me back the paperwork.
I drove away almost too slowly care to not cause a reason for them to follow me.
Then I hear a soft string of screams coming from the trunk.
