JOSH
I held her close to me as we swayed lightly from side to side. Her body is so entuned with mine it felt as if a magical force was moving us together, one cosmic ball of bountiful energy.
Though loud, the music became a soft hum to us. It was peaceful and enchanting,........then she stepped on my foot.
"Gosh Gabs drunk already?" I ask teasingly with a smile.
"I'm not a dancer, at least not a trained one." She says smiling back trying to feel the rhythm in her feet.
She gave up looking to our toes to coordinate and instead looked to me, not caring about her awkward steps.
The dress she had picked out for the wedding was lovely and I had picked a matching tie that has become on of my favorites. It swung between us, as I had forgotten the clip at home, and the bright green, with faint hints of black, made me smile every time I caught a glance. It matched those tantilizing panties, I swear she wore that shade of gorgeous green on purpose.
"Whose the lady?" I hear from behind me. I look around to see a cousin of mine already sounding, and looking drunk.
I make a face at Gabi, hinting at her the misfortune of my cousins company.
"This is Gabi. Gabi this is my cousin Braydon."
I already hate his behavior. He stands at a slant, barely able to hold himself up. It's alcohol vs gravity and right now gravity was winning.
"She's nice lookin, nothin on Caroline though man, you must have been an idiot to break up with a piece like that." He says taking yet another swig from his glass, leaving a streak of red liquor up his shirt as it dribbles off his chin.
I FEEL THE URGE TO SLAP HIM!
Then I feel a tug from behind me. Its Gabi shaking her head warning me not to confront him.
"Gabi is the most loving, thoughtful and creative person I know, I'm glad I have the pleasure of being in her company."
He scoffs but I ignore it.
"Honey, I'm thirsty. Let's get a drink before he drinks everything." Gabi says placing her hand in mine. Though she whispered I could tell he heard her.
"See you around." I say with a fleeting glance. Then I interlock my fingers with hers and we make our way across the dance floor a smile on both our faces.
