JOSH
As we started approaching the gas station I became more and more nervous. Trees surrounded almost every side of the station except for a small field just big enough for us to land in. It was thankfully located to the left of the building.
A single car sat parked at the far pump with an elderly woman sitting in the passenger side. She was reading something, a newspaper probably, and only noticed us after we had landed, guess she was hard of hearing.
A younger man, about my age came running out of the station right as Sophia and I were climbing out of the copter.
"I told ya they weren't no FBI agents." The man says turning and speaking behind him where I could faintly see another man crouching.
Sophia and I walk over to them, a photo in my hand.
"Have you seen her?" I ask the younger man, showing him the picture of Gabi and I at my sisters wedding.
"Don't tell him nothin." I hear the voice behind him say.
"Calm down burns." He says to the man then taking care to study the photo I had handed him.
"Seen her a few days ago, she ah got some gas then left." He says in a strong country style accent.
"You haven't seen her since then? " Sophia asks her hands still twitching.
"Can't say I have. Did she run away or somethin?" He asks taking another look at the photo, then handing it back to me. " We don't get too many of you city folk I would have known if someone that perdy came back."
I tried to keep myself calm. He doesn't know her. He doesn't know that what he is saying is rude.
"We sent out a missing persons report yesterday. If you do see her, or a vehicle with these plates please call this number." I hand him a scratch piece of paper with my info on it and Gabi's info.
"Which way did she go?" Sophia asks.
"Down that there road not sure after that." The man says pointing off to the left.
"Thanks for your help" I say, even though they weren't much help at all.
