Chapter 15: Pre Warning

Aurora's POV

I hoped everything worked out with phoelia and Luca. She's done a lot for me and I really want to see her happy.

I was now making my way up the stairs when I heard a scream coming from the direction of the pack house, I ran down the stairs almost tripping and shifted into my grey wolf running towards the pack house.

Blood was all I smelled.

I ran faster and faster until I saw 4 bodies piled up on each other with blood all around it. Everyone was there already and the screams I heard just kept getting louder and louder.

"STOP SCREAMING ALREADY! DAMMIT." Scarlet yelled at the women who dropped to the floor and started crying.

Why did she snap at the lady?

"Don't scream at her! She obviously knows these people if she's breaking down like this" phoelia sent a deadly glare to scarlet as she tried to comfort the women.

"Someone identify and clean up these bodies, report to me when done." All the whispers that were going around stopped as Sage gave the order and went into the pack house with Donovan following.

Did I miss something?

I looked to see Amelia crying into Shane's shoulder who was hugging her tightly. She's probably feeling what the women is feeling right now.

There was something I was worried about though. Its has only been about 10 minutes max since I left phoelia and Luca in the forest so how would someone have the time to kill this many people and still go unaware to the guards and/or pack members?

Somebody here is playing games. And whether or not they like it, I'm going to find out who.

Donovan's POV

Before going inside mind-linked Scarlet asking her if she was ok, and there was no response which was weird even for Scarlet.

I don't know why she snapped at the women but it did put me in deep thought. After Josephine left the pack house scarlet disappeared and when I ended up getting here Scarlet was the first won to arrive looking at the dead bodies.

I thought for a moment more before pushing the idea out my head and closing the door to the pack house as I followed Sage to his office.

Once we got there I felt the atmosphere in the room harden.

"Just what are you hiding?" I'm a very blunt and impatient person so he sure as hell better fess up what he's hiding before he gets added to the 4 people who were killed.

"Who says I'm hiding something?"

By this point I stare at him and raise up my eyebrow.

"I suggest yoy tell me here and now before I found out. 4 people died out of your pack and you don't even seem to care, so let me ask again, what. Are you hiding?"

Silence.

"I've been waiting for them to make their move."

"Who?"

"The rouges."

"What do you mean by waiting for them? Did you know this was going to happen?"

"Yes, but I didn't think anyone would die."

"You could of stopped this from happening."

"No. If those few didn't die, most of my pack members would of."

"What's that suppose to mean?"

"I'll explain from the beginning."

"You see, during the ball I received a note drenched in dried up blood as a warning."

"A warning for what? And why didn't you tell anyone?"

"I didn't take it as a serious problem. Who would be dumb enough to challenge this pack?"

"Someone asking for a death wish." I glared at him and stood up.

"Tighten security. I feel like they will strike again tonight."

"Already done, I'm even patrolling tonight."

"What time?"

"Eleven."

"I'll join you." With that, I left.
