Chapter 1: The Party

Aurora's POV

"This house is extra quiet, where's my Aurora?" I ran down the stairs almost tripping hearing my aunts voice. My parents left for their yearly vacation so my aunt is watching me for the time being.

Bam!

I face planted right on the floor when I tried to jump on my aunt.

"Why did you dodge?!" I yelled still facing the floor.

"I wasn't ready to catch you so I just moved the side and let gravity take the wheel." She said trying to hold her laughter in.

I got off the floor and rubbed my head as she continued laughing.

"Aww hun I missed you too." She said pulling me unto a warm hug. I didn't see my Aunt much because my parents decided to take a break from our pack known as Lighting Fiery to raise me which I didn't fully understand because we were all werewolves, but we did visit sometimes.

"You've ignored my presence for almost 6 minutes now." I looked beside me to see my cousin Josephine and I jumped on her causing us both to fall.

"Falling is definitely your thing" she laughed as we both got up.

"Is uncle Richard here?"

"Nope, he's at some meeting with the alpha."

I was going to talk but my aunt interrupted.

"That man-stealing alpha, he gets to see my husband more than I do." Me and Phoelia (my nickname for Josephine) both looked at each other and started laughing.

"Oh did I say that out loud?" My aunt laughed joining in on our laughs.

About 4 hours later

"ITS SO HOT"

"auntie stop complaining"

"Mom what do you expect it to be? Were in Miami and your wearing a sweater"

"IM GOING TO ROAST IN THIS HEAT!"

"Mom your so dramatic" I simply just laughed but my aunt really did act like a kid sometimes.

"OH! I almost forgot. You two are going out tonight." My aunt smiled.

"Not interested." Phoelia said while laying on the couch upside down.

"Where to?" I asked excitedly.

"Alpha Jerome's son is having his 18th birthday today and all Mateless girls are required to go."

"Definitely not interested" phoelia said closing her eyes, she wasn't one really into the whole "mate" thing. In fact, she believed the idea was stupid and that you should be able to chose who you wanted to be with.

"We should go, I mean wouldn't it be kind of nice if one of ended up being his mate?" I said turning to phoelia.

"No. He's cruel and so is his cocky pack. Do you know they destroyed a pack in the west simply because a little girl fell onto their territory?"

"Its rumors." I said a bit defensively.

"Is it really?" She opened her eyes a bit before closing them again.
"Think about it."

I mean I heard they are a ruthless back but no one can be that extreme right?

After a few minutes of silence my aunt clasped her hands together.

"So its settled, you two are going"she smiled happily and phoelia groaned knowing she had no choice.

After an hour of arguing about dresses my aunt finally agreed that we could wear what we wanted as long as it was appropriate and we behave at the party. Now, phoelia and I were in the room picking out outfits.

"Thanks for letting me borrow this." My jaw dropped at what she was holding.

"A fly is going to land right on your tongue"

"Your wearing sweatpants there?"

"And a tank top" she said holding it up

"Don't you think that's underdressed?"

"Nope, I don't even want to go. This is as good as it gets." She says walking into the bathroom.

I laughed at looked at my high waisted skirt and my black crop top and smiled. I hope I find my mate there.

We both came downstairs and my aunt looked at us and smiled.

"Hunny I don't know why your wearing sweatpants but ok and Aurora you look so cute" I laughed and phoelia yawned.

"Ok, let's get going" my aunt said opening the door.

My aunt must of been a party girl in her younger days.

30 minutes later

"Ok you two have fun but not too much fun I mean your 15 you can't have that much fun can you? Just don't do what I wouldn't do. No no, stay safe don't drink anything that doesn't Smell like water!" My aunt nodded to herself and drove off. She's defiantly more excited then us.

"Let's get this over with" phoelia said and I followed her into the huge mansion.

"Wow..." I said trailing off. The place was beautiful and a bit bigger than my pack house. I didn't go out a lot because my parents wanted me in the house most of the time but maybe I should because if this is what I'm missing than I have some exploring to do.

"The food smells great!" Phoelia said happily as she walked over guy the table. I just realized how crowded it was as I came to realization.

It was packed and the music was blasted. People were grinding on each other and making out, it kind of made me feel gross like get a room.

I was walking over to the food table to find phoelia when someone had bumped into me and before I knew it I was headed towards the floor. How embarrassing.

When I opened my eyes I almost pinched myself as I met eyes with grey eyes. For a moment it felt like everything froze and I started to hear whispering as I looked around.

"Huh?" I looked around but the Greg eyes guy had grabbed my hand and started leading me upstairs.

"No! Weirdo! Pedo! Fire!" I started shouting because I didn't know what he was doing.

"Calm down. I only want to talk to you." He let go of my hand and I felt a bit sad for some strange reason but I had a feeling that this guy wasn't going to hurt me, so I followed him upstairs.
