Chapter 5: Mischief Day

Josephine's POV

Today marked war. Every year on this day December 24, would be Mischief day where we would play pranks on each other.

I rolled out of bed not being able to sleep, with my packs beta, aka my partner in crime: Shane. He also slept in my room so no one can get us, knowing we were an A-class pranking team. You see, last year when Aurora first came back home we didn't do mischief day, so this year, were going full out.

Shane and I set up a lovely prank for anyone who dares to walk into this room, which is them being showered by water full of ice, and your every day bucket of blue paint.

"He he he" Shane evilly laughed and I joined in.

"Let's see who our victory will be." I said plopping onto the bed next to him.

There was a knock on the door and we smirked hoping it was Aurora and her partner in crime, our alpha: Donovan.

"Come in~" I said and once the person came in our mouths dropped.

It was the previous alpha, Donovan's father, Uncle George. As I like to call him.

It took me about 1 minute to realize what was about to happen so I said the only thing I could say.

"SHANE HOW DARE YOU SET THIS UP IN MY ROOM?"

He gave me the "really" look before placing the blame on me.

"It wasn't my idea!"

"Yes"

"No"

"Yes"

"No"

"What are you kids talking about?" That's when I heard it. The deadly footstep.

BAM.

We both turned our heads slightly to see ice dump right on his head. We both froze and waited for it.

"You two-" splash. And there goes the blue plaint.

I let out a laugh because I couldn't hold it in anymore. He looked directly at us.

"Downstairs. Now."

We nodded but waited for him to go down when we heard it. It sounded like a slap.

I ran downstairs only to see pie in uncle George's face and eggs running down his head.

I covered my mouth from laughing as Shane was turning red from holding his laughter in.

There was silence until Aurora and Donovan realized they got the wrong person.

"Shit" was what I heard from Donovan.

"All of you stay here. I'm going take a shower. If any of you move I will see to it that you won't be able to simply step into this pack house or anywhere for a year."

You can bet your ass none us moved. But that didn't keep us from laughing.

"Y-you guys dyed him in blue?" Aurora said while cracking up.

"Hey... you can blame us we weren't the ones you tried to turn him into a breakfast dish" I said laughing. The funniest thing about this was that he had the most serious face on, even when the eggs flopped right onto his face.

"Wait, did he say shower?" Shane and I nodded and they both turned pale. Oh what did they do? I laughed.

About two minutes later of Donovan and Aurora exchanging glances, the door opened and in walked Donovan's mother, Auntie Charlotte.

"HAPPY MISCHIEF DAY GUYS!" She yelled closing the door behind her. She gave all of us a kiss on the cheek and examined us closely.

"You guys look normal, is today not mischief day?!" She said taking out her phone to probably look at the date.

"N-no...it is, but we got the wrong person..." Aurora trailed off as she looked at something with amazement in her eyes, I followed it up to see what she was looking at and I was about to cry.

Uncle George stood their looking like a raging bull with pink hair. That's when we all lost it and started laughing.

"Oh my" Aunt Charlotte said as she took a picture of her husband on her phone.

"That's a keeper" she went over to her husband and gave him a kiss which we all turned away from, well all except me. I was too busy wiping my tears.

"You kids are something else" she said laughing.

Uncle George stared at us for a moment and sighed.

"I'm letting you guys off the hook for today, after all, its Christmas Eve."

We all looked at each other with blank expressions: we all forgot.

I'd love to say this to the other pack members but it's just us. Pretty small but you shouldn't count us out. We were powerful but the difference between us and other packs its that we were very laid back and very sneaky with getting information.

"You guys might want to get your sleep today, tomorrow we have big news."

"Good or bad?" Aurora asked

I saw Donovan and Shane look away like they were in deep thought, or they were mind liking each other. Is it that bad?

When I was about to ask another question the door flew open letting in the cold air.

"CLOSE THE DOOR AMELIA!" It was Shane's mate, aka my dramatic rival walking in.

"I'm home!" She screamed throwing her hands up in the air as Aurora ran to hug her.

"No one cares, go back" I said laughing

"Hey I care, watch it before I prank you" Shane said wrapping her hands around her waist

"That makes 1" I said rolling my eyes.

"Can't you two get along" auntie Charlotte scolded.

"Nope" me and her answered at the same time, we were always competing with one another.

And for the second time the door busted open with a shivering girl stepping inside.

"Does it always have to be so cold?!"

"SCARLET!" Us three girls jumped on her causing us all to laugh.

"Hey, give me mate some time to breath." Donovan grabbed Scarlet off the ground and pulled her into his chest keeping her warm.

"Hey what about us?!"

He pulled Aurora off the ground and I was left there with my mouth opened.

"What about me?"

"You'll be fine"

"Bitch.." I muttered under my breath as they all laughed.
