Loneliness

In this place, I am alone

Sitting still

watching the tide rise

alone

I'm nothing but a pebble

cast out to sea

loneliness devours me

The only remembrance is the

feel of hands

hands closed around my entity

for a moment I felt safe, I felt

loved

but then, without warning

I was tossed

gliding, slipping, diving, into a

plain of unknown depth filled

with darkness

This is loneliness I feel

It consumes me

It cages me and I long, so long,

to be free
