Missing in Action

Jade woke up extra early the next day; to put it accurately she slept for only about three hours before her alarm goes off. She's undoubtedly nervous for her first day at work and equally curious with both Ms. Cojuangco and that Althea Guevarra. So instead of stressing herself over the two women she decided to just prepare breakfast for her mom and brothers since she haven't told them about the call last night.

She was already setting the table for four when Paul appeared from the second floor...

"Oh Jade? Why are you up so early? Are you going somewhere?"

"Uhh, yeah, can you give me a ride to ACG?"

"Why? They usually take a few days to one week to call you - - oh my god Jade are you?" Paul exclaimed as he advance towards Jade wide eyes

"Yeah, exactly, Attorney Luna called me last night and asked me to report today - - is that bad?"

"What are you saying Jade? That's great!"

"What's great?" Gab butt in while fixing his necktie

"Jade's hired. They hired her!" Paul joyfully spilled

"Really Jade?" Gab smiled earnestly

"Yes, Kuya. That's why I'm asking Paul if he could give me a ride." Jade smiled

"This is a good Tuesday then!" Paul said smiling widely

"By the way Jade, where did attorney Luna tell you to go exactly?" Paul asked they're already pulling over the company parking lot

"That's what she didn't tell me though."

"Hmm... weird, basically they'll order you to go directly at the human resource department for the contract signing." They continued as they walk inside to the lobby

"Then what am I suppose to do Paul?" Jade asked suddenly nervous again

"We'll see, maybe they'll - -"

"Hi Ms. Dela Cruz!" Batchi lively greeted upon seeing Jade come out of the elevator

"Good Morning Attorney Luna." Paul greeted immediately

"Good Morning to you too." Batchi politely returned

"Ms. Dela Cruz? Please stay with me for your orientation." Batchi turned to Jade with a timid smile

"Yes Ma'am." Jade shyly answered

"Jade, I'll be going then." Paul quietly said, Jade just nodded, Paul then disappeared by the elevator instantly

"Uhh... Ms. Luna are we still waiting for anyone?" Jade asked

"Oh yeah, Ms. Anderson will be joining us too."

"Oh okay."

"Don't worry Jade - wait can I just call you Jade? I'm more comfortable with first names, aren't you?"

"Sure ma'am. Jade's fine." Jade smiled genuinely for the first time with no hesitation and nervousness, there's something calming about the way the lawyer's talking to her, which made her relax a bit.

"Then you can call me Batchi..." The lawyer smiled again with an assuring nod

"B-but ma'am..." Jade stuttered

"It's fine with me. We'll be working together most of the time, so it's only appropriate if we start being friends right?" Batchi explained, and Jade was just able to nod. She's slowly seeing the good side of the company through the right hand of the CEO.
