a/n: Hey Gais! Sorry to keep you waiting. I'm still caught up on somethings in the sea of randomness but I know I owe you an update. :)

"Althea, come on and help me with all the little gifts we're giving out to the children outside." Agnes shouted from down stairs as she waits for Althea to finish aiding Miggy.

It's Christmas, and every Christmas, Althea's mom would gather street children at their yard for a small Christmas party where they feed them, read to them and give them books, clothes and toys.

"Coming mom!" Althea called out as she emerged from Miggy's room, she's 17 and they've been doing this since she was 10 so she basically breeze through all the preparations and the aftermath with ease now.

At first Althea didn't understand why her mom was doing all this without expecting anything in return, but as she grew older, she slowly noticed the different glow in her mother's eyes every time they'll help other people, which made her understood.

Although her Christmases changed after the accident in just one snap, the early morning preparation and the teasing and fooling around with the kids, were replaced by a grand long wooden table of seven-course dinner with her father's family, her Uncle Albert her dad's only brother, her cousin David and Aunt Sherly, Uncle Albert's wife.

The next three Christmases of Althea with her Dad's family was more like a mandatory dinner, it didn't feel festive, it didn't feel like a family gathering to celebrate one important birthday, and it didn't feel home for her. But she endured, the criticizing and disapproving looks of her Aunt Sherly that has always tainted Althea's being until after her father's death.

After her father's passing, Althea kept herself from her real fake family and spent the next Christmases with Agnes. She would drop by earlier than the dinner at her Uncle Albert's house out of obligation and courtesy but would leave shortly even before the dinner would start; her Uncle understood her disposition but not her Aunt.

Christmas has always been one of Althea's favorite occasions aside from her birthday and Miggy's, and aside from tradition and mandatory dinner, Althea seek something new and she's hopeful that this year's Christmas going to be different for her and her mom.

"Althea? Dear? What are you thinking of? Is it the blind items and photos still?" Mom asked pulling me out of my reverie I admittedly nodded

"What are you worried about? People getting to know whom you really are? Or the disapproving looks and opinion they'll throw your way?"

"I don't know what exactly worries me mom, I did what's supposed to be done, I pulled dad's company to the top for five years, I've put the country in the map of technological advances because of Atlas-Prime, I've helped the country's economy and it's people to get a job that pays without even leaving the country or their families. And soon they'll all trample me just because of my sexual preference."

"You know people Althea, do all the good things to them and they'll never acknowledge you, do one thing against them and they'll never forget that."

"What should I do mom? More than my name and reputation, I need to protect the company and Jade. It's almost a blessing that they still haven't turned to Jade at this point."

"Althea remember what I told you when you came out to me back when you're still what? 15?" mom giggled

"Yes mom I remember that time..." I said shaking my head
