"So are you returning to the office any time soon?" Batchi asked, we just finished eating late lunch since we pushed for our favorite Paella, which literally took forever to be made.
"I don't know exactly, I don't feel like going to work with a traitor." I honestly said pertaining to David.
"Then you shouldn't go to work for the meantime." A voice of a man suddenly emerged from behind us, Tito Albert.
"Tito Albert! Where have you been really?" I asked welcoming him with a hug
"Just fixing everything for your great comeback." He said with the wink
"Do you plan on telling me about everything you're doing?" I inquired
"In time my dear niece, in time." He said with a nod
"For now, rest and let Mr. Lopez do the work, you don't have to hurry Althea, the company's still under and will stay under your name and control." Tito Albert assured
"Besides I think Jade here is enjoying her job of being your everything. So enjoy your time together!" Tito Albert added smiling at Jade who shyly blushed.
I just laughed and shook my head at him.
"You should try manang Gina's Paella Tito!" I offered
"Now that you mentioned, maybe I could use some good food." He agreed
I was about to call manang Gina when the phone suddenly rang. I walked to the telephone while all the three of them are watching me as I did.
"Hello? Who's this?" I answered
"Althea." The man on the other line husked
"D-David? Is that you?" I frowned, Tito Albert was instantly alerted upon hearing his son's name, he then took the other connecting phone by the wall.
"Come meet me at your office." He stiffly ordered
"W-why? What for?" I stuttered, feeling the trace of anger in hi voice
"Let's settle things once and for all. Let's see who's the worthy Cojuangco."
"What are you talking about David?"
"Come meet me by your office and we'll talk. Like the cousins that we are." He said I can almost see him smirking evilly.
I was stuck up, I looked over to Tito Albert and he nodded that I should I agree on meeting David. Batchi and Jade looked at me worried.
"S-sure David. I'll meet you."
"No tricking Althea, no Batchi, no Jade, no Tito Albert, no bodyguards, and no police." He threatened
"No anyone." I agreed
"Meet me at sundown. I'll be by your office then." He finally said and he ended the call.
"What did he say?" Batchi asked, Jade immediately found her place beside me, rubbing the small of my back, relaxing my tensed shoulders.
"He wants me to meet him. Later at my office. Alone."
"What? No you're not going." Jade ordered
"But I have to - -"
"No Althea, that's a trap, you're not going anywhere near that place." Tito Albert scoffed
"But Tito - -"
"I'm going. I'll be the one to meet him."
"Tito?"
"My son's being consumed by his envy and hunger for power and money. He's not thinking straight anymore. I need to talk to him Althea, and besides you're still recovering. Let me handle this okay?" He pleaded
