Entangling Myself with Her Intricacy

"It's official." I mindlessly blurted out while Paul and I are sharing a bowl of popcorn while binge watching the last season of How I Met Your Mother.

"What is official?" he asked eyes not leaving the TV

"I like her."

"What's new?" he shrugged me off

"I mean I like-like her Paul." I said emphasizing like-like our code for liking some one so much

"You mean you like-like her so much it's almost love? That kind of like Jade?!" Paul exclaimed suddenly shifting to face me almost toppling the poor bowl of popcorn over, I just nodded.

"Oh my god, Jade! That's not good. Hold your horses you don't even know her that much. How can you like-like her? We never like-like people we don't know personally remember?"

"I may have been able to unearth some of the most important things about her the past weeks and besides I know when I like-like a person Paul unlike you." I said mocking him; Paul is more emotionally weak than I am so he tends to confuse attraction or infatuation to love. His past relationships were all a mess.

"Woah! Wait Jade don't talk to me like that I'm still older than you. Like what "important things"?" he said raising an eyebrow and crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"Don't ask. They're too personal."

"Don't use that "Don't' ask," Charade Althea's using on you. That's not going to work with Me.," he said shaking his head

"But it is really personal and I don't feel like sharing it to anyone because she never shared it to anyone too. Well besides her mom and attorney Luna."

"You mean you met her mom?" Paul asked in shock

"Yeah. It's hard to explain, but yeah I met her mom, today."

"Oh. That's pretty serious."

"Yes I know. And what happened with the visit really opened her up to me, making me want to hold her or hug her just to make her feel a little better."

"But you can't and you can never do that Jade. What if she's not you know, like you? And even if she is, she won't pay much interest with her secretary you know? Not unless you're willing pursue her? Are you?"

"I think so? I'm not sure I'm scared. We're just kinda starting of as friends. It's still not strong enough to complicate it with this petty crush or attraction I have for her yet. But Paul, I want to be her friend or more. There's something about her that I wanted to take care of."

"For an emotionless robot, I think Althea has shown you more than a smile huh? What bone did she throw you?" Paul naughtily asked

"She just opened up to me Paul. That's all. The closest thing she did to having contact with me intentionally is tapping me on my arm or shoulder I don't even remember exactly because I was so stunned when she did. Her enigma is drawing me more to her that's all." I recounted.

"If that's the case then I suggest you try and pursue her, although subtly. Do it with actions, make her breakfast or whatever, take care of her without telling her that you want to take care of her and let's see where that'll take you."

"You think that'll work?"

"What else do you think will work huh?"

"Alright. I guess I could do that."
