"Batchi! Have you seen Jade?" Althea breathlessly asked her best friend who just frowned at her

"She came for you outside a while ago. What do you mean?"

"I'll explain later, I need to find her." Althea then rushed to the front entrance of the function hall where her bodyguards are waiting.

"Bernard find Jade and don't let her go, take her to the car! Now!" Althea roared as she walked to the washrooms hoping to find Jade there but she just disappeared in thin air after she got inside the function hall again.

Althea was rushing back and forth craning her neck all over the place one more time, ignoring everyone who comes her way aside from her business partners, she just curtly smiles and nods and agrees and will instantly excuse herself. The longer it takes her bodyguards to find Jade the more she gets distracted and snappy. Until her phone she's tightly clutching vibrated.

"Hello Bernard?" she answered as she immediately makes her way out of the hall

"Ma'am we can't find her, one guard told us she has already rode a taxi about 15 minutes ago."

"Fuck!" Althea cursed

"What's going on? Where's Jade?" Batchi bothered

"She has gone home." Althea blurted

"What? Why?" Batchi asked again

"She saw me and Solenn kissing when she went out for me..."

"What?! You what?!"

"It's not my fault okay? I - - I don't know what Solenn was up to but when she saw Jade behind us she dropped me off, I was so shocked and horrified to react immediately and when I did Jade's already back inside the hall. And now she's gone!" Althea exasperated pacing back and fort

"I need to go after her Batchi... this is not good..."

"I'm sorry but you can't do that. You have business partners, possible investors and media people here what do you want me to tell them? That you've gone after your girlfriend who accidentally saw you locking lips with your product ambassador?"

"Shit! Batchi. Shit! Shit! Shit!" Althea cursed stomping like a kid

"Althea listen to me, you already bailed from the European partners so you can't do that now, and for Pete's sake Althea this is your launch!" Batchi said as she shook Althea off

"Just finish the launch, and you can go after her... you don't have to go to the party... I'm sure Jade will understand if you take a little more time before getting in her house tonight."

"Just the launch, right. Okay. Let's do this."

And just like that Althea instantly turned from a worried sick girlfriend to the respectable CEO in just a snap. She spent the next four hours decently restraining herself from spewing sarcasm to people with repeated questions, forcing smiles and poses with business partners and celebrities who were there. She's torn and broken and her heart's beating sorely, she misses Jade, she want Jade to be with her in that special night but she ruined it and Solenn's who's magically everywhere the venue isn't helping either.
