"So you really are getting married?" Ali asked, this was the last time we were at Antonio's
"Yes." I shortly answered almost just a breath, not looking at her, not trusting myself on looking at her anymore, because I might not be able to do as I intend to if I get to see her tears-stained face.
"You know I'm willing to wait for you babe."
"No, Ali please, don't do this, you deserve better than that..."
"But I love you..."
"And I love you too, so much, but..."
"But of course you love your old man more. I understand that." She said her voice breaking, she reached for my hand across the table and I let go of my own tears
"Please Ali...I can never ask you to let me go but I don't want to ask you to stay either, it's not fair for you." I pleaded she sighed long and giving up
"Just promise me, that if by chance someday, when I find a new love, so strong I decide to marry them, you'd be my maid of honor? Would you send me off?"
"S-sure, I promise." Feeling a series of goose bumps just by thinking of sending her off just like that
"Promise me you'd find your happiness after all this mess." Ali said again and I never thought if I'd be able to find happiness again after her but I nodded.
"I want to hear you promise me Althea. I want to hear it from you; I want to hear that all this sacrifices are worth our broken hearts. You know you're killing me right now." My jaw clenched as she clutched tighter on my hand.
"I- -right - - I - - Promise." I blurted convincing her
"I'll see you again then." She finally said as she pulled her hand free from mine, I stayed where I was when she started leaving, she hugged me one last time and I almost didn't want to let her go.
"I loved you. And I still do. Good bye Althea." she added as she ripped herself away from me finally letting go.

"Ali what are you doing here?" I plainly husked
"You really didn't notice me play with the orchestra for dinner are you?" Ali chuckled; she hasn't changed a bit even after five years. She's still home to me.
"Sorry I wasn't really paying attention." I honestly said, because I was focused on that black and white beaded applique gown-wearing woman who's with my best friend the whole night, but I'm trying to shake her off my head now.
"Yeah I know, I saw you run out here and she followed you, she looked genuinely devastated, she must love you." Ali commented
"She lied to me." I hissed
"She might have reasons? Why did you run away again? Remember what happened the last time you ran away?" Ali accused pertaining to mom and Miggy.
"I just - -"
"She might have lied but that doesn't affect the way she looked at you, have you grown so hard to not melt from those eyes?" Ali added
"I know how she looks at me because you used to look at me that way." I smirked
"Althea..."
"Why did you come for me?"
"I just missed you. I'm really proud of you. You did great there."
