To all of those confused on what the hell just happened, this is the backstory on how this story came to be.

The Sims series is filled with magical creatures like ghost, vampires, witches and wizards and so on. In The Sims 4, there are so far have been ghost that have magical abilities, cowplants that can eat you and hidden areas that needs to be discovered (not to mention the disappearing people). So for this series, I wanted it to be a fictional version on what we see in DanAndPhilGAMES as well as in the same universe as my fan fiction series (The Online Silhouette Saga). However, the story needed a complication so I decided to put in some family drama and a tiny bit of magic in the story to make it interesting.

When working on the complication, the first thing on my mind was 'How can I make it all work' because the story needs to click in order to make sense. It needed to follow through the gameplay and not to mention, make sure my predictions are all correct in order to make changing things less of a hassle. When I reviewed Preston in the gameplay, to me, he look somehow similar to Dil so I made him his actual father rather than a 'Sugar Daddy'. Then Erika was also similar to Dil so I've decided to make Erika his 'half-sister'. After that, I needed a motive, what does Preston want with Dil which was different from all fictional novels? That is where I placed the magic side of the Sims Universe and used that as motive... a power hungry father who wants the magic to stay, even if it means forcing him to stay. But I also wanted to put a bit of hope so I chose a plot line where you get to choose if you want to keep your powers.

The magic backstory was inspired from my year 8 history class where we learned about Medieval Europe involving magic and witches and stuff like that. From there, I mashed that with the magic properties of the Sims 3 and 4 games and that's how I managed to create the perfect backstory. Something fictional yet near to realistic.

Then came the family tree issue. Dil needed to meet his parents. We have Preston and I needed to plot his mother. Back then, I wanted Summer to be his mother but it sounded wrong and it wouldn't fit to the story. So thank goodness for Noemi La Land (the ghost). Willow Creek is a magical place, why not have a ghost of your dead mother come in the story, using her middle name in order to remain a secret till the end.

The connections between characters for those still lost:

Main:

Preston Chappa + Noemi (Lillian Chappa) = Dil Howlter (or Dominic Chappa)

Noemi + Mr Pendleton = Erika Pendleton (Dil's half sister)

Dil Howlter is adopted by Dan Howell and Phil Lester at age 5

Secondary:

Martyn Lester - Phil's Older Brother

Adrian Howell - Dan's younger brother and Liana's fiancee (kinda broke a rule here)

Liana Sheppard is dan's ex-girlfriend

Sophie - Eliza's aunt and Dan's friend.

Eliana (Ellie) Summers is Phil's ex-wife and Ian James's Wife/GF (haven't worked that one out yet)

Ian James Helia is Phil's old friend from school and Chris's second cousin.

Brian the Irish Cameraman is Ellie's cameraman (both work in the BBC) and a friend of Dan and Phil

Things that I wanted to add in the story but chose not to add it:

- Preston kidnapping Dil

- Some weird Erika/Dil or Summer/Dil action

- More Phan [Radio show stuff, youtube stuff, vidcon] (It's a Dil Howlter fan fiction but I want some more phan action in it)

- Tabitha and Dil 'Doing the do'

These plot lines couldn't be added either, I just can't put myself to write it, it wouldn't fit to the story, doesn't match the gameplay in an accurate level
