Part 4:

You felt your heart break as he exposed the whole truth, leaving him vulnerable. He still loved you.
"I never stopped loving you. I thought you could move on without me." You explained, getting emotional.
"No one could ever compare to you. I built this business to make you proud, I spend money on things I don't need in order to make people respect me and I hoped it would help. But it never did. Nicole chased after me for months, I finally gave in, her father was very influential and I wished it would finally make me move on and love someone else. But as much as I care for her, I can't move on. I don't want to. When I saw you, it was like my heart started beating again. I wasn't even angry at you, I guessed why you did it. I was angry at myself for not being angry at you. I was angry at myself for not finding you. I was angry at myself for being so pleased that you were alive. I took it out on you because I figured that was what I was meant to do. I'm sorry for that."
By the time he finished talking you were a complete mess. "You have no reason to apologise, I left, knowing what it would do to you. I tried to move on but I couldn't either. I couldn't let you go."
For the whole time you had been back you hadn't seen him as emotional as he was now, tears gathered in his eyes, making them shine. It reminded you of what you two had been through.
"I love you." You told him, wanting him to know clearly how you felt.
"I love you too." You desperately wanted to get rid of the tears that were about to escape his eyes. You wanted to feel his arms around you, to kiss him. You hadn't been this close to him since before you 'died'.
"Jason, sweetie, there you are!" a voice called out behind you. You both moved slightly away from each other, trying to make the situation between you two less obvious. You couldn't kiss him or be with him romantically, he had a girlfriend. "The second half is about to start." She glared at you and if looks could kill, this would be your last breath. She grasped onto his hand tightly, tugging him as far away from you as possible. You followed behind, retuning to your seat.
In the second half there was a lot more money being spent. The prizes were a lot bigger, cars, boats and even houses were being sold.
"Our next item is one for the couples out there." The presenter said, the screen behind him now showing a beautiful island. "A holiday for up to 6 people, to the Maldives, all-inclusive for three weeks. There is also the option of having an extra week, for free, to India."
"We'll start the bidding at £8000" multiple hands went up and soon the bid was at £14500.
"£20000" a woman shouted out. Everyone swivelled around to look at the person buying and once the hammer was slammed down, everyone began to clap. You joined in before realising it was Nicole who made the bid.
"It can be for our honeymoon." She suggested to Jason, who immediately looked at you. You fought the urge to cry, wondering whether you had any tears left to cry at all. Of course they were going to get married, she was from an 'influential' family and was gorgeous. You couldn't expect him to drop everything he had with her, for you, who had nothing. You had no influence in his world, or anyone's for that matter, plus you already had an ex husband and two kids that he would have to deal with. Two kids he didn't know about yet.
"So y/n, nothing caught your eye in this half either then?" She asked "I could see the way your eyes lit up at the thought of that house on the outskirts of rosewood." Yeah, away from you, you thought, not liking her condescending tone.
"Yes it was very nice, it had lots of room." You smiled, not wanting to cause a scene.
"Shame you don't have the money for it." The whole table turned to look at you and you could feel your cheeks turn red. But you were determined not to be embarrassed, you were a single mom, who worked hard for what she had. Nicole just came from a rich family and found a rich guy.
"No, I have a house already. One I'm fond of." With that you left.
When you got home, it was almost one o'clock and the babysitter had clearly done their job well. You paid them, then went to check on your kids. You poked your head around each of their doors and whispered good night, before getting ready and into bed. Just before you were about to fall to sleep, you heard a soft knock. You kids skipped in and jumped onto the bed, either side of you.
"How was the ball?" daisy asked. You smiled and moved her hair away from her face as they snuggled up next to you.
"It was beautiful, it was in a mansion with waiters and loads of fancy people and women dressed in gowns." You explained.
"Like a fairy-tale." She added, yawning.
"So why are you sad?" Luke asked, who was younger than daisy and not bored with the conversation topic, more interested in trains than ball gowns.
"I'm not sad. What makes you say that?" you questioned, hugging them closer.
"You just seem sad." He stated.
"I met someone I knew a long time ago." You explained.
"Why does that make you sad?"
"We lost contact. It ended suddenly and we were both hurt. Him more than me."
"Is he our new daddy?" Luke asked. You frowned at his comment, recognising the fact that it had been a while since they had seen their own father, neither one of you having enough money to go and visit the other, since you were at completely different ends of the country. He hadn't even been making the effort to call, no matter how many times you called him, he had had no contact with his own kids.
"No he's not your new daddy." You could hear their breathing even out as they fell to sleep.
"But I do want to be with him. Maybe one day he will be your step farther. But that would be a long way away and only if a miracle happened." you sighed, falling to sleep yourself.
