Part 5:

The next day you all didn't wake up until the late morning and you decided you would take your kids out to the park.
You cooked breakfast which they seemed to shovel down their throats then you started walking to the park, which was only around 15 minutes away. You held on to Luke and daisy's hands and walked to the children's play area. Luckily it was a bright, sunny day and the kids seemed to know some other children who were playing on the swings. Unlike other play areas you had taken them, this one wasn't fenced off and so you sat on a bench nearby and kept an eye on your kids. You saw a group of other moms a distance away from you, but were too intimidated by them to go over.
"What are you doing here." you glanced over to Jason, not wanting to lose sight of your kids.
"Mommy, mommy!" Luke squealed as he ran over, before you could explain to Jason. "Who's this?" he asked curiously.
"Uh. I'm Jason." He said, holding his hand out for Luke to shake. Luke looked at his hand for a second before clutching it and pulling him forward. Jason pulled a funny face, clearly surprised by the strength the tiny boy had.
"We want you to push us on the swings!" you wandered over, laughing at how Jason had to completely bend over in order to hold his hand.
You picked him up and placed him in the swing and daisy had already positioned herself in the swing beside him. You stood behind daisy, whilst Jason stood behind Luke and you pushed them. They started talking about a children's programme they had seen, leaving you and Jason to talk.
"I didn't know you had children." He stated, raising his eyebrow.
"Yes. A lots changed over the years." You replied. "This is daisy and that's Luke."
"What about their father?" he questioned quietly, mouthing the word father in case it was a sensitive subject for the kids.
"I'm not with him anymore, he lives in the other side of the country." He didn't ask any more questions, as you were interrupted by the kids wanting to stop. You lifted them out then Jason suggested going to the field. You let them walk in front with you and Jason behind until you reached the area of lush green grass. You two sat and they found other kids to play with.
You watched them play catch and laugh, smiling at how happy they looked.
"They seem like lovely kids." He, watched them too, leaning back on his arms.
"They are. I just want them to have a good childhood, it's what they deserve."
"Why would they not have a good childhood? Is it their father?"
"Their father doesn't talk to them anymore. It's a shame, but it's his loss. I try to contact him but he doesn't want anything to do with us. He's not paying child support anymore. Moneys tight. I should go to court but I can't even afford the fees for that. Plus I don't have the time." you felt comfortable telling Jason and it felt good to let all the stress off of your shoulders.
"I don't understand how you can leave these kids behind. What ended your relationship?"
"It was fine when we got married, but I never stopped loving you. I loved him as much as I could, just not with all my heart. It obviously wasn't enough and he cheated."
"Why rosewood? There are so many bad memories here..."
"There's also so many good ones. It was a familiar place, at least it was before I came. Now it's just as new as anywhere else in the country."
