Request:
Can you do a pll imagine with Jason and aria, with him finally getting aria to date him, with the help of Y/N.
Words: 933
A/N: I'm so behind on requests, I'm going to write them in the order I got them though. Also, I set this after the 5 years forward, I hope you don't mind xx
(SPOILERS) (kinda..)
5 years seemed a long time when you were off exploring the world, visiting a different country ever few months. But now you were sat in the same coffee shop that you had been in for your whole teenage life and it felt like no time had passed at all. The town still looked identical to how you remembered it. You sat opposite Jason, who had created a successful career for himself since his sister was revealed as A. since he, and everyone else, could start living instead of simply existing.
You chatted about normal things, since you stayed in contact over the years and had no catching up to do. However you lost contact with Alison, spencer and Emily. You still talked to Hanna, but only occasionally, when she wasn't busy being a slave to her horrible boss. The only one of the liars you were still close to was aria even though she moved to a place that was a long distance from where you had moved to. And aria seemed to be the topic of the conversation you were currently having.
"Have you seen aria since you know when?" Jason asked curiously, his fingers tapping on the side of the cup in his hands. The drink too hot to sip.
"Yes I have, she's doing well for herself." You stated, looking at him suspiciously, wondering what had caused him to think of her. Not once before had he mentioned aria. But now she was in town, she was all he could talk about.
"Do you know anything else about her? What is she doing? Is she single? Has her favourite colour changed?" you laughed to yourself, noticing his attempt to hide the real question from you.
"No, she isn't dating anyone at the minute." You clarify, seeing his eyes light up at the possibility of them together.
You knew about his feelings, especially when you were all last in rosewood. He was jealous of Ezra, and anyone else that got near aria. He wanted her all to himself. He looked out for her whenever he could and always wished he'd made a move.
Then she went away and took his heart with her.
That left you to try and convince him to be with someone else and it amazed you that after all these years, he still felt as strongly towards her as he did then.
"I don't think she'll want to see me" Jason sighed, running a hand through his golden hair. He kept it reasonably short nowadays, finding it suited his professional status more than the long hair he had when he was younger.
"Why not?" you asked in disbelief. He always put himself down, having been compared to Alison all his life and now to everyone in his business.
"My family made her life a living hell. She hasn't been my biggest fan from the start. Things aren't going to change now."
"You don't know what might happen." You reasoned. "She's had time to go over everything, to move on, she probably has a completely different opinion of you now. You aren't responsible for charlottes actions. And when we were going through everything and suspected you, she always defended you."
He shook his head, his eyes glued to the table. Yet a small smile played in the corner of his lips as he took in this new information.
"I think I need to just talk to her before I start thinking of way to ask her to dinner." He chuckled.
"Why don't I set you two up?" you suggested, texting aria before Jason even had a chance to reply.
"y/n, you don't have to do this.." you could see he wanted an opportunity to see her and you were giving him an easy way to do that, yet the thought of meeting her scared him.
"It's done." You said, as you sent the message telling aria you were setting her up with a blind date that night.
After your coffee, you headed back to the Dilaurentis house, where Jason was currently staying whilst they decided whether or not to release charlotte. You decided that he wasn't going to go out on his own without help, so you helped him choose what to wear, picking out a crisp white shirt and some jeans, so that he appeared both casual and smart. You talked to him, motivating him to work up the courage to tell her how he felt.
"She isn't psychic" you stated. Picking a rose out of a bunch of flowers someone gave to Alison. "You're going to have to show her that you're serious."
"Isn't a rose a bit much, what if she sees me and instantly leaves because I'm sat there with a rose?" he fidgeted with his hands, a nervous habit you had noticed only two or three years earlier.
"She won't, even if she didn't like you in a romantic way, she wouldn't just leave." You tried to be comforting and encouraging but you could see it was making him sweat more.
He glanced at the clock, standing up abruptly and heading towards the front door. You followed, slightly confused.
"What are you doing, your date isn't for another 45 minutes?"
"I know, but I want to be there in plenty of time." he said, quickly thanking you for everything you had done for him.
"Wait!" you called, watching him stride down the path. "Don't forget to kiss her at the end of the night" you winked, causing him to roll his eyes, before hopping in his car and driving to the restaurant.
