My BestFriend My Teammate and Broken Promises

Chapter 26

Tobin's PoV

"We were... What?" I say. We were dead? How can that be? "What happened?" Lauren steps forward.

"Well you came bursting out of the house with Alex in your arms. Then you collapsed as soon as you got to the grass. I run over to you and your covered in blood. I was so scared Tobin. Alex you looked like Tobin when we found her except a lot worse. I called Amy over and she got two police officers. They carried you all the way to the hospital. When I got there they were shocking your hearts. Then they stopped. Alex's heart started after a few seconds. Your doctors Alex immediately went to work on you. Tobin. Kelley told me that you were dead for five minutes. No one stays dead that long and comes back. But you did. Me and Amy were in shock and didn't know you had come back. Kelley told me that she got the doctors attention and they immediately started surgery to remove the bullits." She didn't let go of our hands ever. The whole team came and surrounded us as we sat there our eyes wide open.

I look at Alex. She looks terrible. She looks at me. I slowly get up. It hurts. I out my feet on the cold hard floor.

"What are you doing Tobin? You need to lay back down. The doctors found that you were shot in the leg and that it broke a bone." I ignore Amy's pleas. It hurts but I don't care. I go over to Alex, lean down and give her a hug. She scoots over and I lay down next to her.

"We'll leave you guys be." Says Kelley. I nod my head. "I'll talk to the doctor about when you can leave." The team leaves.

I hug Alex again. We stay in each others arms for awhile. After awhile Alex falls asleep on my chest. I fall into sleep not to long after her.

Lauren's PoV

Telling Tobin and Alex that they had died and come back was super hard. Then when Tobin got up and went to Alex I saw hiw great their friendship was.

We watch Alex and Tobin fall asleep with each other thru the window.

"Awe. Their so cute together." Says Hope.

"Woah. They don't swing that way. You know that." I say to her.

"I know but they would be so cute together. Their great friends. I don't think Alex or Tobin will be dating any guys soon though."

"Probably." Amy says. "I mean I wouldn't if that stuff happened to me." We nod our heads.

"The rest of you guys can go. I'll stay here." I say.

"I'll stay with you." Says Amy and Kelley at the same time.

"Ok. You guys can. We'll see ya guys later." I say. They leave.

"I'm going to go find the doctor." Kelley says and walks away. Amy and I walk into Tobin and Alex's room.

We sit down in the chairs. We don't talk we just watch Alex and Tobin.

"They've been so much. Do you really think that they would start to like each other?" I think about that.

"I don't know." Is all that I say. Kelley walks in.

"Hey guys." She whispers. "The doctor said that they'll be able to leave within a week. Maybe sooner if they take it easy."

"That's great. How long until they are fully recovered?" Amy asks.

"He said that they should be able to start training in two months. Then in in three months they should be able to play. So they'll be able to play in September. Hopefully."

"Good. I feel so bad that Alex wasn't able to play in the World Cup. She's a world champion though in my eyes though. Tobin too."

"Same. They'll be able to play in some victory tour games though." Kelley says.

"They look so peaceful." Says Amy after awhile of silence. "Except for the cuts they look like nothing will harm them when their in each others arms."

Tobin's PoV

They didn't know it but I was awake. I was listening to their conversation. It was true. I did feel safe in Alex's arms. I didn't know about the us getting together part but I definitely wanted Alex in my future.

At least I'll be able to play in the victory tour. What my friends said about me feel really special. I love them so much!

Alex's PoV

I don't think that Kelley, Amy, or listen knew that me and Tobin were awake. We woke up right before they came in and decided to act like we were sleeping.

Their conversation both amused me and made me realize that I did feel like I was safe in Tobin's embrace. I'm glad that I'll be able to play in the victory tour.

I love my friends so much!
