***Jordan POV***

I gripped my bow tightly as I jogged behind Tom. His purple head was bobbing as he jogged.

Since when was his hair purple...? I thought to myself, running my thumb along the smooth surface of my bow.

I hadn't seen Tom in ages, and if possible he looked even better than before. His brown eyes still glimmered with mischief and his laugh was the same. He still told awful jokes, but griped his sword handle with a firm hand.

Same old Tom.

And yet he seemed infinitely different.

Something had happened while I was gone, but I couldn't put a finger on it. But it made me uneasy.

I didn't like not knowing what had happened to him.

But something was wrong.

***Tom POV***

I felt awful.

I felt like I was being stabbed in the stomach and someone was twisting the knife.

I felt like I was being thrown off a cliff over and over again.

I felt like my heart was breaking.

I cast a guilty look down at the ground as I jogged to my house.

There was no doubt that I was excited to see him. I had missed Jordan to no end (I made a pun there. Get it.) and seeing him made me incredibly happy.

But seeing him follow me made my heart burn to ash.

I don't want to do this. I thought, by heart twisting as I jogged. But I have to. My eyes slide over to Jordan, who was starting to gain on me. I'm sorry.

•FLASH BACK•

"Tom." I turned over slightly in my bed to see Dianite standing there, a slightly bored expression painted on his face.

"Sir!" I quickly rolled off of the bed and knelt, and he gestured for me to rise.

"Listen, Tom." He gave me this smirk as I stared at him. "I get that you've got s little crush, and I'm glad that you over came it to tell me about Jordan. You did the right thing." I looked at him, chewing on my lip and nodding. "But you need to do one more thing for me." I locked eyes with him. "Bring him to me." My eyebrows shot up.

"How?" Dianite smirked.

"He'll follow you, don't worry. Just find a way to get him near the Priest's and I'll take care of the rest." I looked down at the ground. "Tom, think of it like this; you're going on an adventure." I kept my gaze on the ground. "That's it. Thomas I'm sick and tired of you moping around. This is not my champion, and since that's the case, Nade can do it." My eyes shot up as I grabbed my sword hilt.

"Dia! I can do it!" Dianite narrowed his eyes at me.

"Tom you haven't been acting like a Dianitee. You've started becoming weak and pathetic." I rolled my shoulders back and stood straight.

"I said I'll take care of it. I'll have him by tomorrow."

FLASH BACK END•

"Hey Jordan?" I said, keeping my hand on the hilt of my sword.

"Yeah Tom?" He was jogging next to me, his eyes scanning my face as I spoke.

"What do you want to do?" He frowned.

"What do you mean?" I laughed and jumped a bit.

"What do you want our adventure to be?" I was forcing a happy voice, and he laughed.

"Um, let's go build a tree house." I forced a grin.

"Sounds perfect! Can we stop by the Priest's real quick to pick up some supplies?" My heart twisted as he responded.

"Sure thing. We're almost there right?" I glanced up and saw that we were. I took a shaky gulp of air as I laughed.

"Perfect!" I started running faster to get  there, nearing the entrance. I could feel the presence of Dianite nearby; my Dianite tattoo burning slightly. I turned as I stood in the entrance, turning to look at Jordan.

He looked so happy.

It instantly changed as a ring of fire appeared around him and enveloped around him, swirling and swallowing him whole.

But not before I could hear him.

Not before I could hear him scream my name in heartbreak and terror.
