(Local news reporter Hail Leathers is doing a live broadcast.)

Hail: Good evening. I'm Hail Leathers with a breaking news report. I am here at the scene of the murder of 14 year old Britney Palmer, who was brutally murdered at her friend's home during a sleepover last night. The chilling scene may evoke memories of The Murder Murderer and that's because...we may have a copycat on our hands. The event has been trending on social media for the past few hours which is surprising considering the fact that most of those responsible for this going viral weren't even a thought when The Murder Murderer terrorized the citizens of Murder, Massachusetts. But for those of you not familiar with The Murder Murderer, no worries. We'll inform you. During the early 80s, the only worries for America were solving the Rubik's Cube, the AIDS epidemic, and being able to do the moonwalk. But for the townsfolk of Murder, Massachusetts, our troubles vastly exceeded those of Middle America. 15 people were killed over a period of 2 months. And to make matters worse, yesterday was the 35th anniversary of the 1st murder. Ironically, both Britney & the 1st victim in 1980 were 14 year old girls. But on Halloween night, the perpetrator was captured. Randy Kennedy was a zealot who went after the people of our town in an attempt to send messages to us. He is now on death row and is scheduled to be executed in 2 months, which is a good and a bad thing. It's good because that means we'll be rid of the person who caused this town so much fear that haunts us to this day. It's bad because...now, someone out there has taken his place and is doing the same thing. Let's just hope that this terror doesn't last as long or has the same results as the first time around. For WOAH News, I'm Hail Leathers. Signing off....

(Cathy and Eric were watching the broadcast on their TV.)

Cathy: So...what was that again about loving living here?...

Eric: Obviously, I should have done more research. But that isn't gonna put a damper on our time here.

Cathy: Dad, we're from a state where prostitution is legal. Our city is known for gambling their troubles away. But now we live in a town where some second-rate Ghostface is going around killing people.

Eric: I know you feel like I've brought you from the frying pan to the fire but...this will have its benefits. I promise.

Cathy: Me making it out of here alive by graduation will be a benefit within itself.

Eric: You're right. If this doesn't turn out good...I'm sorry.

Cathy: No. I'm sorry. You're doing the best you can. Even more remarkable for a widower. I'm gonna hit the sack. I have a long day ahead. First day at the preppy hellhole.

Eric: Good night.

Cathy: Good night.

(They hug and Eric kisses Cathy's forehead. Cathy goes into her room and gets into her bed. She looks at a photo at her mom and holds it.)

Cathy: Don't feel bad, Mom. I know you didn't want to go but...you're here in my heart and Dad's too. Continue to watch over us...

(Cathy puts the picture back on her nightstand and turns off the light.)
