Chief Anthony Herald: You know, The Murder Murderer was my first case. I was fresh out of the academy. Back then in the early 80s, serial killers were still relatively new. Especially those kinds. Usually, they would kill 2 or 3 people. But...15 people? That was...mind blowing for us. We couldn't even go out past a certain time without feeling frightened. Hell, we couldn't even go out past a certain time. After a while, the town put out a curfew.
Police Officer #1: I remember that. I was 5 years old. I used to have nightmares about the whole thing. This doesn't leave this room but I...even used to wet the bed. I remember on Halloween night, we went trick-or-treating. A couple of these teens dressed up as the Murder Murderer and went around pranking people. They did it to me. I had to...sleep in my parents' room for almost a whole month. It's kind of funny looking back at it, how scared I was not the entire situation, but then, I was scared shitless.
Police Officer #2: I wasn't even born yet. Not until 1987. I didn't even know about The Murder Murderer until 1995 when the made for TV movie with Tim Allen came out.
Police Officer #1: God, that movie was shit.
Police Officer #2: I know right! (scoffs) Hollywood.... Anyway, I remember going to the memorial they made for the victims. I still get chills when I think about putting some flowers and a drawing I made for them at the site.
Chief Anthony Herald: Hopefully...Britney Palmer is the only name we have to add to that list....
