(Cathy comes home.)
Eric: So...how was your first day?
Cathy: It was...eventful.
Eric: Made friends? Although your answer will probably be-
Cathy: Yeah. I did.
Eric: You did?
Cathy: Yep. I'm actually gonna go to the mall with them right now.
Eric: Okay. Have fun. And be safe.
Cathy: Dad, you really think some masked freak is gonna kill someone at the mall? In public?
Eric: Cathy...
Cathy: If you're wondering, no. He won't. The fact that he wears a mask clearly shows that he's a coward. Don't worry.
Eric: I'm a father. It's my job to worry.
Cathy: I'm your daughter. It's my job to give you something to worry about.
(Eric and Cathy laugh.)
Eric: Ok. Have fun.
Cathy: See you later.
(Cathy leaves. Eric has a look of worry on his face.)
