Chapter 18:

I woke up the next morning so excited. I couldn't believe this was happening, is this a dream?
I had packed most my things the night before, all I had left was my ukulele and the stuff Oscar gave me. It was sad really that all my stuff could fit in one suitcase. When Oscar left he had boxes and boxes of stuff.
I looked at the picture frame one last time before I wrapped it up in tissue paper and placing it in my suitcase.
It was 11am, which was early for me to be up and about. I ran downstairs in hope of something to eat.
I searched all the cupboard and couldn't find anything. There's never any food in this place, but I've gotten used to not eating. I sighed as I walked back up the stairs to my room.

An hour later Ms. Mulligan knocked on my door.
"Hey Hazel," she said as she opened the door, I looked over and she looked so sad.
"Hey miss, what's the matter?" I asked her.
She hesitated for a moment then looked at me,
"I remember when I first met you, you were three and I remember meeting Oscar as well. Wow, you too were little shits." She laughed and I laughed with her.
She gave me a massive hug and whispered in my ear,
"Good luck Hazel, I'm going to miss you."
"I'll miss you too Miss."

I'd packed everything up when Ms. Mulligan shouted,
"Hazel, they're here."
I grabbed my suitcase and my ukulele, I took one last look at my old room I whispered,
"Bye old room, the memories we've had." I ran down the stairs to see Dan and Phil standing in the hallway, I dropped my bag and hugged them both.
"Hey Hazel, you ready to go?" Dan asked me, I turned round taking one last look at the orphanage.
I won't miss it one bit. It put me through hell and I'm so glad to be leaving.
"Yeah, let's go!" I said picking my suitcase.
"Do you want me to take your suitcase Hazel?" Phil offered, I shook my head.
We got in a the taxi, Phil sat in the front again and Dan and I sat in the back.
"You excited Hazel?" Dan asked, putting his arm around me.
"Of course I am!" I replied, making them both smile.

I knew I was going to love my new family!
