Chapter 44:

"Hazel, wake up," I heard Phil whisper softly. I slowly opened my eyes, Phil was kneeling in front of me with a massive smile on his face. I sat up immediately,
"Morning Phil," I mumbled yawning. I blush harshly, I must have fallen asleep on Phil!
I don't know why but I cringe really hard when I do.
"What time is it?" I asked Phil, ruffling my hair.
"It's 11:37, why?" he said, looking at his phone.
"Crap, I'm late for work!!" I mumbled, jumping up and running to my room.
I threw on my work polo shirt, I have to wear, black jeans, black vans and my attack on titans hoodie. I quickly combed my fringe, grab my backpack and ran back into the living room.
"Oh, Phil I've got therapy after work so I'll be back at like 6ish," I said, tying my shoe laces.
"Okay, oh before I forget. Here..." Phil said, throwing a pair of keys at me, which I fail terribly at catching.
"There the keys for the apartment, Dan said you needed some," Phil continued.
"Thank you Phil," I said placing them into my bag. I quickly checked my phone for the time and run out the house shouting,
"Bye Philip!"

I arrived to work 25 minutes late and out of breath, as I basically ran all the way there, which is like a mile or two away.
"Sorry I'm late," I said, running into the staff room and hanging up my bag on my hook.
"What's the excuse then?" a woman asked from behind me, I turned round to see my boss sitting down at a table reading a newspaper.
"I'm sorry, I don't really have one but I promise it won't happen again!" I said, feeling really guilty.
"Okay, to work you go," she said, not taking her nose out of her newspaper.
I walked out of the staff room and continued waitressing and other boring stuff like that until it was time to go.

"Becky, I'm going," I shouted to my bosses office, taking of my apron.
"Okay Hazel, see you tomorrow and don't be late this time!" she shouted back, I grabbed my bag and heading for the door. I was just about to get out the door when I hit a tall figure in front of me, making them split coffee everywhere.
"I'm so sorry, it's my fault, let me help-" they interrupted me,
"No it was completely my fault."
That voice, it was so familiar.
"Hazel?" they asked, I looked up to see Leo. I moved my fringe out of my eyes,
"Oh hey Leo," I said, bending down and picking up the coffee cup he'd dropped.
"What are you doing here Hazel?" Leo asked me, wiping coffee off of his Bring Me The Horizon shirt.
"Oh umm, I've got a job here," I mumbled,
"What about you?"
He smiled, "I just came in to grab a coffee before SDA."
I stared into his eyes and kind of got lost in them, I realised I'd been staring for a long time and snapped back into reality.
"Oh, let me buy you another coffee," I offered placing the empty coffee cup into the bin.
"No, you don't have too," he said,
"No, I insist. It's the least I can do for making you spill yours," I said, dragging him up to the counter.
After we ordered a coffee and had an awkward moment.
"Do you want to head to SDA together?" Leo asked, I nodded in response and headed for the door.

"So, tell me about you Hazel," Leo said as we walked.
I smiled, "Like what?"
"You're family, favourite song, band, colour, pastime, book, hobbies," he laughed.
"Well, it's just me and my dads. I was orphaned when I was a baby and I was adopted not that long ago by a couple," I stopped and looked at Leo.
He gave me a sympathetic smile, he had an amazing smile, I continued,
"My favourite song is probably 'Glowing Eyes' by Twenty One Pilots. Band, I can't decide, I love TØP, MCR, FOB, P!ATD, BMTH. Um, colour black. Pastime and hobbies, I play loads of instruments, so that, also drawing, writing, reading, photography and filming. And I really have a favourite book, I love anything really. And that's everything about the simple life of boring old Hazel Lester Howell." He laughed,
"Well, I like boring old Hazel Lester Howell," I felt my cheeks blush and my heart beat faster. What was going on? Did I like this boy?

"Thank you, well what about you? Tell me everything!" I smiled.  He coughed and began to speak,
"Here is the legendary tale of Leo Green. Prepared to be bored by his humble life.
Well, I'm originally from Australia, hence the accent. It's just me and my dad, but I don't really see his a lot but when I do I don't like it. Ever since my mum died he's drunk all the time, or taking a new type of drug that could kill him. I spend most my time away from him really, I just don't like what he's become." I grabbed his hand, he looked up to me and smiled,
"Anyway, I love music! I play guitar, and I work at a record store near here. You should come over some time. I also study music and uni. And that's the story of Leo."
We talked all the way.

He laughed as I smiled at him. We stopped outside the building. I still help his hand. He stared into my eyes, I gazed into his. He started to lean in, I leaned towards him.
Leo placed his lips onto mine, I began to kiss him back. It was slow but passionate at the same time. He moved his hands around my waist and broke the kiss.
We staying in silence for a second, I stand there blushing and he stands still holding me by the waist.
"Hazel, I like you," he whispered to me,
"I like you too Leo."
And with that we walked into the building...
