Chapter 71:

Dan swore that Phil's eyes had never glistened so blue as he walked down the flower-covered aisle. His own eyes immediately brightened as he got closer to his soon to be husband. He noticed Phil's pale hands clenching at his sides in anticipation, Dan's heart flipped as he saw the smile plastered on his face.

Phil held his hands out to the brown haired man now standing across from him, Dan intertwined their fingers. This felt perfect; this felt right. "We are gathered here today to witness something we all knew would happen eventually..." Began Peej, who had been recently ordained so he could legally marry his two best friends. The audience chuckled and the two grooms smiled shyly towards them. "I understand you two have prepared your own vows?" Peej asked, Phil nodded and shuffled his feet indicating he wanted to go first.

"I'm going to keep this short and sweet because there's not much I can say that you don't already know. So Dan," Phil looked up and squeezed the other man's hand as he spoke. "I've wanted to do this the moment I met you. Thank you so much for stalking me on YouTube." He paused and chuckled, "I love you from the bottom of my heart Dan." Phil nodded towards him, admiring his brown irises as the audience awed.

It was Dan's turn now. He was prepared and surprisingly calm. Usually the thoughts in his head crippled him and made him anxious but at this time and moment, all he focused on was his best friend -the love of his life- in front of him.

"I'm usually not one for maudlin displays of emotions or unnecessary sentiment, you know that about Phil, but I can honestly say that the last seven years that I have none you have been the best years of my life. Without a doubt. We have been through everything together Phil, we have an amazing family. The three of us. And this is just one of the steps. I have never been happier and it's all thanks to you that I am able to get through the thoughts in my head. This is literally been the most fun I've ever had Phil, and I can't wait to make so many more memories with you. I love you Philip."

They both went silent and Peej smiled, realising the vows were over. He said a closing statement and then the words they all were waiting for echoed throughout the chapel. "You may kiss the groom," Peej said, smiling wide.

Dan immediately stepped forward and placed his hand on the other man's back as Phil grasped Dan's white suit jacket. Their other hands stayed locked together as the space between them closer and their lips touched gently. In that moment everything was right in the world. "You look so handsome Mr Lester," Dan smiled as they pulled away and the audience clapped. "So do you Mr Lester," Phil smiled back. Hazel approached and hugged both of them. "I can't believe it, we're finally a family," Dan smiled at Hazel and Phil. They both smiled back. "We're the cutest family ever," Phil said, Hazel nodded, "We really are."
