Chapter 74:

George smiled. "Yes please. Quickly come in. I'll get the others," he said, dragging me in. He noticed Sam who was holding Doge's lead. "Hello, I'm George," he smiled at Sam. Sam smiled. "Such a gentleman, I'm Sam and this is Doge," she said, George stroked Doge. "Come on Hazel, I'll race you," he smiled, grabbing my hand and talking me upstairs. "Mary! Penny!" George shouted, opening the door to the room. Mary and Penny sat on the bed, playing a board game. "Hazel?" Penny asked, I smiled. "Hazel is gonna take us on an adventure, come on," George smiled. Mary jumped up and down in excitement. Penny looked shocked, "Really? You're taking us out?" I nodded. She smiled and grabbed a backpack. "Can I take teddy?" Mary asked, Penny nodded. Mary climbed on the bed and grabbed a tatty looking stuffed bear. "Wanna go?" I asked, everyone nodded. We all went down the stairs. "I'm just going to tell Ms. Muligan I'm taking you guys out," I said, they all followed as I knocked on Ms. Muligan's office door. "Who is it?" she sung. "It's your old favourite," I laughed. She opened the door and gave me a hug. "Hazel, back again I see," Ms. Muligan smiled. "I know," I smiled. "I see you've met the gang," she laughed, gesturing to George, Mary and Penny. "Hazel's taking us on an adventure!" Mary and George shouted. Ms. Muligan laughed. "That's what I was going to ask. Can I take these guys out for a bit. I'll have them back by lights out," I said. Ms. Muligan smiled, "Of course you can! Have fun guys." They all cheered and we waved goodbye to Ms. Muligan. We leave the building to meet Sam outside. "Guys, this is Sam, my girlfriend. Sam this is Mary, Penny and you've already met gentleman over there," I laughed. Sam said hello to everyone as they all stroked Doge. "Where we going?" Penny asked, I smiled, "Picnic at Hyde Park?" Penny nodded.

We arrived at a Tesco and go in. Sam and Penny stay outside whilst George, Mary and I looked around Tesco for food. "What you guys want to eat?" I asked. They both smiled, "Can we get some chocolate?" I laughed, "Sure. Let's go." They both hold my hand as we head to the chocolate. We all picked up some chocolate bars and go to the checkout. "Thank you my lady for the chocolate bars," George said. I laughed, "A good knight like you deserves them." We get out Tesco and all head to Hyde Park. "Hazel! My feet are tired," Mary moaned. I sighed as I picked her up and placed her on my back. She wrapped her legs around my waist. George folded his arms, "So are mine." I chuckled as I picked him up and held him like a baby. "Me too," Sam laughed, I rolled my eyes, "You're to big to carry." Sam frowned, "You calling me fat?" I rolled my eyes as we walked.

"Yay! We're here!" I shouted as we entered Hyde Park. Mary and George jumped out of my arms and started to run around. "Let's go sit by the tree," Penny shouted. We all followed her to the tree. Penny grabbed a blanket out of her backpack and placed it on the ground. Penny and Sam sat on it as I played with Doge and Mary and George. "Want to throw the ball Mary?" I asked, she nodded and threw the ball making Doge run for it. She laughed as Doge gave it back. "Hazel, I'll race you to the tree," George shouts. "You're on," I shouted back running to the tree. George ran too.

I laid on the blanket with Penny, whilst Sam played with Mary and George. "How was the wedding?" Penny asked, "It was good," I smiled. "Tell me about yourself Penny?" I asked. "Well, I'm 12. I was put up for adoption about 3 months ago, my dad was an alcoholic and my mum died mysteriously a year ago. I think it was my dad, I always have. He also fought with her. The night she died, I heard a gunshot from the garden. I ran out my room to see want it was and I saw my dad holding a gun. When the police came I just told them what happened. My dad got arrested and I was put up for adoption," she told me, I put my arm around her. "I'm sorry," I sighed, she smiled. "It's fine. Anyway I'm young, couples want to adopt children my age," Penny chuckled. "True, same for George and Mary," I smiled. "Yeah," Penny sighed. I put my arm around her. "Don't worry, your going to be adopted by the best family ever," I smiled, she nodded, "You're right. Thanks Hazel." "No problem," I smiled back. "Hey Hazel! Catch!" Sam shouted throwing a frisbee at me.

I checked the time as I laid on Sam. "It's 9:30!" I whispered to Sam. She sat up. Mary, George and Penny were sleeping. "Can you carry Penny?" I asked her. Sam nodded. She stood up and picked up Penny. She put Penny on her back. I handed Sam Doge's lead. I carefully picked up Mary and then George. I carried them like little babies, one in each arm. Sam and I held hands as we walked back to the orphanage. When we arrived at the orphanage I gently knocked on the door. Ms. Muligan answered. "I'm really sorry we're late," I said, she smiled, "It's fine. Do you two mind putting them to sleep. One of the toddlers are playing up," Ms. Muligan explained, Sam and I nodded. We made our way up the many stairs, and can I say it's hard carrying two toddlers and holding a dog lead. "Okay, are we putting them in their pyjamas?" I asked, Sam nodded. We searched the draws for clothes. When we found them, I dressed Mary and George whereas Sam dressed Penny. Once I'd dressed them, I gently placed George in his bed and Mary in hers. I kissed Mary on the forehead and then George. George's eyes slowly opened. "Hazelnut," he mumbled, "Hello," I smiled back. "This was the most fun I've ever had," he mumbled before closing his eyes again. "Me too," I whispered, kissing him on the cheek.
