Seven years, seven incredibly short years since my birth; although I was technically only seven, I looked and felt like a seventeen year old. My mother and father were tucking me in as they always do, when a question suddenly popped into my head, but I wanted to wait until my dad was gone so he couldn't hear... "Okay, fine. I'll leave" he said, slightly irritated. Ohh yeah. mind reading, how could I forget? "I don't know, but you do it quite often" he said slightly chuckling. He kissed my forehead and swiftly left the room.

"Can you shield my thoughts..?" I asked my mother. "Of course darling" she replied slightly confused yet curious. "Okayy.. Soooo.. Umm... How do you know when you're in love with someone" I whispered, running the last of the words together as I looked at my fidgeting hands. She smiled sweetly and said "It was about Jacob, wasn't it?" Jacob... My Jacob, he had been there for me forever and never was away from me for longer than a day. He had brown eyes that could make you melt and a tan that put a California surfer to shame. His teeth were as white as snow and straight as a ruler. He was perfect in every way. "Well, is it?" my mom asked eagerly pulling me out of my thoughts. "Yes." I said kind of embarassed.

She reached over and pulled me into her lap, my God, everyone treats me like a baby. I couldn't say I minded though, with a house full of vampires that could never have children and me being the closest thing they will ever have, I happily oblige. I replied being happier and more excited than I have been in the six months that I have known that I have fallen for Jacob Black. "Goodnight princess, sleep tight. I love you." She said laying me down and kissing my forehead. "I love you too mommy" She loved when I called her mommy. She tucked me in and kissed my forehead smiling once more and was gone in a flash.
