Homeward Bound

Jake POV

"Renesmee. Don't ever scare me like that again!" Edward and Bella scolded. "Sorry guys" she said, a tear streaming down her face. She hated being scolded. I picked her up in my arms and wiped the tear away. She hugged me tighter and buried her face in my chest. "Baby, we all love you so much that we just didn't want to see you get hurt" I soothed as I ran my fingers in her hair. She looked up at me, her eyes brimming with tears again, and kissed me. It shocked me for two reasons, one: She was crying! Two: Edward and Bella were right there. I let her pull away, she had been through enough without feeling unwanted by her boyfriend, because trust me, I loved kissing her. Edward nodded in agreement. That's a change, him agreeing with me. He chuckles to himself, no one else notices. She pulls away and I hug her tight to my body. She was so beautiful, even when she cried. Edward tried to take her from me after she stopped crying, she clung to me tighter and started sobbing in my chest. I didn't know what to do, I didn't like her treating Edward like that, but I would die rather than turn her away when she needed me most. She placed her hand on my cheek lightly, "I love you" was suddenly filling my head. "I love you too" I murmered in her ear. We finally got out of Dracula's castle and reached our car. Alice was a little too excited for her shopping trip. Renesmee cried herself to sleep in my arms on the way to the airport. I ran with her in my arms. I missed holding her and seeing her with the Volturi made me sick. When Felix and Demetri picked her up and kissed her cheek... I was about to rip some heads. Then Alec. Oh Alec. You will die by my hand. That is a promise. I could never tell Renesmee my plan, it would hurt her, she actually loved the Volturi. She loves too much, but its another reason why I love her. We reach the airport. The stewardess smiled adoringly at Renesmee and I, she was still asleep in my arms. I placed her in her seat, she stirred, but went back to sleep on my shoulder, grabbing my bicep. I loved when she did that. It made me feel loved by her, it's just one of the many little gestures. We arrived in New York in six hours, damn private jet. We dropped Alice, Esme, and Rosalie off. We took off again, Renesmee still asleep. I looked over at her and then I laid my head on hers and slowly drifted out of consciousness, dreaming about her surprise to come. I can't believe Edward agreed.

Renesmee POV

I woke up, but my head was pinned... Jake fell asleep on top of my head, how cute! My little moment of joy soon wore off when I remembered what I did. I got the Volturi to love me like a sister or daughter to save my family, it didn't sound that bad to me. I know it was a little reckless to get so close to Felix and Demetri... But how else was I supposed to earn their trust!? You get what you give, right? I know my parents are pretty angry, but everyone else isn't mad... Why are they? "Renesmee," my father starts, "Your mother and I love you so incredibly much that the thought of you being so close to a threat is terrifying. It ended for the better, but what if it didn't? How would we feel? How would your Uncles and Aunts feel? How would your grandparents feel? How would Jake feel?" he asked, stressing the last name. "I am very sorry, I didn't mean to be so careless, I just really wanted the Volturi to like me.." I said, trailing off at the end. "That they do" Daddy muttered. I just fell deep in thought about how horrible it would be for Jake if something happened to me and vice versa. If anything was stupid enough to kill my Jakey, I would destroy it slowly and painfully. Suicide would be an intruiguing idea, but that wouldn't be what my Jake would want. He woke up as we entered Washington. He gazed at me sleepily. "Morning sleepy head" I practically sang. He responded by kissing me lightly on the lips. He smiled and pulled me on his lap. I snuggled into his chest and listened to his heartbeat. His heartbeat was like my favorite song. "I like the sound your heart makes" I say adoringly. "My heart? Babe, its been yours since I laid eyes on you" he said casually as he kissed the top of my head. I twisted to look up at him. "I love you" I said, letting him see the passion behind it in my eyes. I read his mind, "She will never know that I love her more. That my heart beats for her and only her. I hope she knows how loved she is. I will remind her every day if I have to" his thoughts were so sweet and loving. "I love you too" he replied after a few moments, the passion mirrored in his eyes. We reached Forks and it was time to go home. We ran into a girl named Jessica Stanley, she seemed to have known my mother "You haven't changed a bit" she exclaimed to my mother suspiciously. She eyed my father in the same way. She eyed my Uncles like that too. I read everyone's mind, everyone was in agreeance, apparently, we're moving.
