I was driving as she loaded the weapons. I'm surprised she didn't go off on me when I left my hand on her thigh. I didn't mean to but I guess it was alright. I was kind of glad she was here with me. We bonded best when we were out on the wasteland together.
We didn't talk to each other much. I didn't want to set her off, or hurt her in some way. I wish I didn't leave her out there in the wasteland. If I hadn't have done that, she wouldn't be angry at me. Maybe it would all be okay if I hadn't have left her there. I'm not the best at having people around, usually why I leave. I don't stay in one place for long but in this case, I just might be.
I kept driving and she loaded the weapons. I would glance at her every now and then, examining her features. She was beautiful, something I could never forget about. So strong, so beautiful. My mind is just swimming in my thoughts.
We were still waiting for the buzzards to come. War boys too. They should be comming by now. I stopped the car got out and grabbed my sawed off shot gun. I was scanning the wasteland for any buzzards or war boys. So far none. I got back in the car and starting driving again.
"Phoenix-" I tried to speak. I couldn't get much out other then her name. She looked at me, puzzled look on her face. "I'm so sorry, I-" I was cut off by the voices in my head. I clenched onto the wheel tightly and continued driving. I could feel Phoenix' eyes on me. I'm sure she wanted to know what I was going to say but I couldn't speak. All I could hear was the voices. "Max? Is that you? Where were you?" They spoke, not as loud this time. I clenched the wheel tighter then before.
