A leap of faith

Chapter 11- Those messages

Late at night just as usual I was busy making notes. The regular college assignments and tests had totally killed us all. As per the schedule we had a test and an assignment or a seminar for the same topic. So all of us had to be prepared for the next week's studies. I had decided to score well! For me excelling in my studies was a priority. I had came all the way to Houston to mold my career in a way I had always dreamt of!
My family was encouraging me to pursue life sciences. With that encouragement and support I could get a scholarship and come to Houston for studies.

I sat with my usual cup of coffee and a few biscuits to munch on while I was studying. My study table was a mess. So many books and pens, highlighters lying here and there.  After a while I noticed that there was a pending text message in my phone. 

*You have received a message from Mike*

Mike:"Hey! Wat r u doin?"

Me: "Hey! Busy studying for the tests! What about u?"

Mike: " Just came home! Was out wid a few of my classmates."

Me: "Oh! Dats gud! How was your day b'day boy?"

Mike: "It was awesome!  Didn't expect such a nice b'day in Houston. This is my first b'day here and it will always be memorable :) "

Me: "Glad u enjoyed it! :)"

Mike: "Yes! I did enjoy! I wud thank all of u! You guys made it special! :)"

Me: "No worries!"

Mike: "So wat els?"

Me: "U say. I'm just busy with the tests currently"

Mike: " Tell me bout your life? Hows it goin? Hav a boyfrnd?" 

Me: " Just d same old routine Mike. Boyfriend? Naah. I am Single with no regrets! :p "

Mike: "Looks like u r liking d status to be single! "

Me: "Oh yes! Absolutely .Tell me about u"

Mike : " Same here. Single as hell!"

Me: "Oh. So do have a crush on some girl?"

Mike: "Umm. Yes. But promise me u won't tell any1!"

Me: "Okay! U can trust me"

Mike: " Its you! I have a crush on you Myra!"

Reading this my eyes popped up! I couldn't believe that. I thought it is a prank.

Me: "Hahaha! Good prank Mike. Common enough jokes. Tell now. Whats d name of the girl?"

Mike:" You think m joking? I have a crush on u girl!"

Me: "I can't believe it!"

Mike:" R u angry? Lets meet tomorrow in college and talk bout dis!"

Me: "I don't know how to react! C ya! Gud nite!"

I really didn't know how to react to this. I thought he was joking! I didn't feel bad, I felt weird because for me he had always been my good friend nothing more than that. I thing I was sure was I'll always be his friend nothing more than that!
