A leap of faith

Chapter 34- Solitude

Late night I was sitting on my sofa listening to music. I had plugged in earphones and went near the window. It was very beautiful outside. The stars shone brightly, a cool breeze kept gushing in, calming everything inside the room, city lights made a picturesque view and good music. I just shut my eyes and relaxed. At that moment all the memories of the day kept on flashing in my mind. Lily and me talking, clicking pictures; the prankster boys-Smith and Mike caught while playing a prank; Mike's sudden closeness and lunch and Ryan who always made a point to cross my mind. 

I was roused from my reverie as my phone beeped. I checked my phone ans it was a message from Mike.

Mike: "Hey! :)"

Me: "Hi"

Mike:"What are you doing? Still up?"

Me:"Yes. Just listening to music"

Mike:"Okay. Thats nice. Btw"

Me: "Yes?"

Mike: "Wanted to ask if you are free tomorrow? Want to come along for lunch just like the other day?"

*Again a lunch? NO!*

Me:"Oh. Who all are coming then?"

Mike:"Umm.. no.. Just the both of us"

Me:"Well I don't think it will be possible."

Mike:"Well would be glad if you try!"

Me:"Okay. See you tomorrow!"

Mike:"Okay then. See you later!Good night :)"

*Will surely have to stay away from him tomorrow!*

Next morning

I was startled by the sound of my alarm, I just took a look at my phone and hit the snooze option.

*I just want to sllleeeppp!!* 

I covered my face under the sheet,rolled over and slept for a while. Again the alarm bell struck and I had to give my on my sleep. I removed my face from the sheet and just had a look a my window. It was so radiant. Birds chirping, cool breeze gushing while flaring the curtains. It was a beautiful morning. But I still didn't want to get up from my bed.

*Arghh!*

Finally I decided to get up. I got up from the bed and walked towards the bathroom. Quickly I refreshed myself,took a bath and walked down towards the kitchen. Mom was already busy making the breakfast. 

Till then I just checked the pending messages. 

*Whoa! 50+ messages! Am I missing something?!*

So obviously I decided to check those messages. 

It read like

"Can't wait to see you at lunch! :)"

"Do you like chinese?"

"There are a few amazing restaurants in my mind. We could go and check it out!"

"Try to be free tomorrow post noon."

*Oh god! Can't he leave me alone?! Suddenly why is he trying to get so close?!*

I just chose not to reply to his messages. I just sat down to eat the breakfast in peace and left for college.

I was just walking towards my class, just I that time I spotted Julia with a couple of friends. I just looked at her and was just about to smile, while she was standing, hands folded and looking at me right into my eyes and gave a solid stern look.
