I saw Ryan's face and I knew something bad had occurred. I quickly turned on my heels and went down the staircase. I was gasping for breath as I reached near them. I stopped for a moment as I was out of breath. I observed Ryan. He was sitting covering his face with his hands.
I was stoned at that moment as I couldn't face him. He was totally ripped apart! And I guess I knew the reason behind it. Mike was sitting adjacent to him giving Ryan a side hug. At that moment I was totally blank,I couldn't understand how to face him and how to handle the situation.
I took a step ahead and Mike saw me coming closer. He quickly cleared his throat and Ryan suddenly wiped his face as if he understood Mike's signal. I saw them and Ryan was smiling at me.
*How could he! Why to pretend that everything is alright?!*
Me: "Well I saw everything from the window upstairs. Are you alright?"
For a moment there was silence as both of them were staring at me with disbelief!
Ryan still choked up hadn't spoken a word. I raised my eyebrow as to asking him to answer.
Ryan: "Yes. I'm fine"
Me: "Want to talk about it?"
Ryan: "She broke up with me" He answered with a poker face which was hard to decipher. He actually managed to to hide his sadness,frustration and anger in that moment.
I just popped up my eyes. As I couldn't understand why a girl would ditch a loyal boyfriend?!
Mike: "She just spoke to him on the phone and decided to end the relationship."

Me: "Wwhhatt? On what basis? And just on a phone call?! I mean what made her decide this. Women are getting harder to understand these days! Didn't you ask her for the reason? "
Ryan: "As if I don't know what is going to be the reason. She said she wants to end it all,I heard her baseless accusations for few more minutes and disconnected the call"
Me: "I guess you should meet her and talk."
Ryan: "I don't want to. I had enough of those baseless and shitty issues.If she needs me I would hear her out. "
Mike: "Take your own time man."
I just nodded my head. And saw Ryan. For the first time since I met him, I haven't seen him so destroyed. He pretended to be normal, but his lifeless eyes depicted the reality.
He just sat there for a while as I waited for the girls to come downstairs. Mike had already spoken to them and had asked them to pretend as if everything is normal.
Girls came downstairs in a minute and even they were confused as to how to approach Ryan. Lily just waved at him and in return Ryan smiled back as if nothing was wrong. Seeing him in such a state literally tore me into pieces. I just wanted to be with him and tell him that everything was going to okay!
