Chapter 9- Oh no!Ryan!

Julia: "Let's buy a watch for him!" 

Peter: "Nope! Let's buy a baseball kit for Mike!" 

Me: "Okay! Not a bad idea" 

Ryan:"Baseball kit sounds like a good option!"

We all had gathered to plan for Mike's birthday! It was just round the corner.

Just like me Mike was new in Houston. And he had moved in alone here. His family lived in California. So just to create a very homey environment for him on his birthday, a lots of brainstorming was being done by us.

We all were deciding about the gifts, cake, who all to invite and stuff!

Lily: "Lets get to work guys! We have an entire day to do finish up all the tasks!" 

"Yes ma'am!" we all said in unison

Half us headed towards the sports store and the others were busy preparing the guest list. Ryan,Peter and Julia went to buy the kit,while Rose,Lily and me were doing the other jobs. It took around an hour to purchase the kit and these guys were heading home to meet us.

"Can you just pass on the doughnut Lily?" I requested her.

 We were done with all our tasks and we decided to munch on these yummy delicious looking doughnuts!

*Beep Beep*

Peter: "Hello" .He was panting on the call

Something was definitely wrong!

Me: "Peter! Whats the matter?" 

Peter:"Ryan! Its an emergency!" He said out of breath

Me:"What happened to him?"

Peter: "He suffered from an accident Myra. I just brought him to the hospital" 

Me: "Tell me the address we are coming!"

I memorized the address and we headed towards the hospital. I was panicking as to what might have happened. I hope it wasn't too serious!

We reached the hospital and saw Peter,who waiting for us outside

Lily:"What happened Peter? Is he okay?" 

Me: "Can we meet him now?"

Peter:"Sshh! Relax guys! Yes we can meet him now. He was driving a bit fast and due to this he met with an accident! But it isn't serious he just has a muscle pull and a few skin injuries. He will be alright in a week!" 

Me: "Oh thank god! You scared me Peter!" 

We all headed towards the room were Ryan was admitted. Ryan was sitting and a nurse was examining his wounds. A few stitches were seen on his calf skin. He was ordered to take a bed rest for a few days until his wounds get better.

The nurse left and we entered the room

Ryan: "Hey guys!" 

I didn't understand even in such a terrible pain he was so happy to see us! How does he do it?!

Lily: "Hey idiot! Can't you drive carefully?!" 

Lily and Ryan were together since school and they had a strong bonding. When I told Lily about the accident she was scared and worried for him. She quickly grabbed the car keys and drove us here.

Ryan: "I am okay Lily! See I am alright! No need to worry!" He replied with big grin from ear to ear

Me: "Oh yes! With a few stitches, a half dozen wounds on your skin! You have such a nice definition of being alright Mr.Ryan" 

Ryan: "Fine! Don't shout on me like that! Can't you see I'm injured Miss Myra" he said flaunting his dimples and with an innocent smile

* Isn't that enough! It makes my knees to go weak!*

Me: "Its enough now! You should rest! We are waiting for you outside, if you need anything let us know." 

He nodded and dozed off

Peter, Lily, Rose and me were sitting outside in the corridor.

"Peter, Julia  was there with you right? Where did she disappear?" I asked

"Don't ask about her!" Peter said with a low expression

I didn't understand what that meant and I asked him to elaborate. He said he had informed Julia about the accident and she just replied that what I am supposed to do!

Me: "What?! She just said that?" I was stunned to here this

Peter: "You heard it right Myra!" 

Me and Lily were just looking at each other and wondering how can a person react like this to such a situation! Julia and Ryan were associated which each other because of Kate. Julia was Kate's best friend. And because of this Julia and Ryan were close friends. Inspite of all this Julia didn't even bother to check on Ryan's health! I was a little angry on her for such a behavior!

After a couple of hours Peter asked us to go home as it will be very late for us. And even Ryan will be discharged in an hour from the hospital.

Me: "No we will stay back,until he is discharged." 

Lily nodded in agreement. "Wait a minute! Where is Kate? When is she coming?" Asked Lily
