Chapter-14: My confidant

*Oh god! It was Ryan who was texting me and not Mike! Bless my over thinking ability!*

Ryan: "So you get it now?" He asks with a wide grin and winks

Me: " Yes. I am sorry! I thought it was someone else so I decided to avoid those messages"

Ryan:" Someone else? Ahem ahem! Something seems fishy!"

Me: " Its not funny Ryan"

I tried best to not get angry. And anyways he was just teasing me. And besides he was unaware of the recent happenings!

Ryan: " Spill the beans! What's wrong?"

He was pretty good in understanding me. Sometimes I didn't even had to mention any thing. He just understood it.

Me: " How do you always know that something is wrong? I didn't even mention anything! And you just understood. Are you a mind reader Mr.Ryan?"

Ryan: " Haha! I wish! Well its not hard to guess. Your eyes speak a lot! "

I smiled at him for what he said.

Me: " Well there is a problem as you said. Long story!"

Ryan: "Go on. I'm listening."

Me: " Mike is in love with me! And I do not like it. I first I was feeling bad for him as I broke his heart. But now a days he just wants to be glued with me. He follows me everywhere like a stalker! He is treating me like his girlfriend which I' m not!!" I turned red as I was explaining him the whole situation

Ryan: " Whoa! Calm down girl. Have you told him all this?"

Me: " Sort of! Well I didn't say on his face as I was busy running away from him. Since the last few days he is just busy following me everywhere, trying to buy me a few chocolates and stuff as to melt my heart! Why all this? Its just pissing me off. I'm just worried one day I'll cross my line and say mean things to him. So I just disappear in front of him when things go way out of the line."

Ryan: " Ohh! That is sad. I can understand what you must be going through! Does anyone know about this?"

Me: " No. Its just you."

Ryan: " Its just me? Not even Lily?"

Me: " Well I don't mind sharing things with you. I feel safe when its you. And I want to tell Lily. Whenever we both get a chance to talk Mike finds his way and all the discussion is interrupted!"

Ryan: " Okay. Should I talk to Mike?"

Me: " Don't know. That is your call"

I felt so relieved when I told him the situation. Because coping up with that all alone was getting too much for me. I couldn't bear with it now. But I am glad he was supportive.

Rehearsal hall

After the college we girls had decided to join the dance club. They was organizing a charity event in which there were a few dance and singing programs put up by the students themselves. The main agenda of the event was to raise awareness against Cervical Cancer and to raise funds.

As per the schedule every alternate day the club embers were supposed to gather in the rehearsal hall. We had a practice session of about 2 hours after college. And the choreographer was a member of the college alumni who was now an accomplished choreographer Miss Emily. It was a delight to watch her every week. She was an elegant woman with such a grace and poise! A treat to our eyes!

We changed into our dance costumes and were ready for the rehearsal. Emily told us about the things we had to learn today. She demonstrated the steps and asked us to follow.

Emily: "Okay girls. With the music. Listen and let your body flow. Common 5..6..7..8.."

And with the beats of the song we started swaying our bodies and portrayed the best we could. With that we practiced for about 2 hours and more and wrapped up for the day. Emily boosted our confidence and geared us up for the following week's schedule.

Me: "Exhaussteeddd!! I can't even drag my feet to the changing room!"

Lily: "Even me."

We quickly changed into our routine outfits and set out for home.

Julia: "Myra, I'll drop you home. Its quite late. Don't waste your time for looking out for the next bus."

Me: "So thoughtful. Thanks dear!"

Me and Julia were in her car driving down towards my home. And something happened which I never expected to occur. Life as they say! Always punches you unexpectedly!

Julia: "Do you mind if I ask you something?"

Me: " Nope. Go ahead. What is it?"

Julia: "Well don't take it personally! But whats up with you and Ryan? I hope you remember that he is dating Kate. Don't you?"

*WHAT? What was that? What did I do now? *

Me: "Well as a matter of fact I DO REMEMBER that he is dating your best friend Kate. So don't worry. I DO NOT have a hidden motive of breaking them up or other bitchy stuff!! And whats all this? " I was so furious with Julia with I decided to use my words cautiously but precisely to clear her misunderstanding!

Julia: " Well today I saw you guys. You were totally inseparable! I saw him confronting you over something and later you guys were happily chatting about something for hours together! So I just asked."

*Seriously?! She thinks because of such a thing I am going to get involved with Ryan? May god bless her mind!*

Me: " *Bitchy laugh!* I still can't believe you said that. Because he was confronting me do you think I am going to steal him away from your best friend? Mind you, I am NOT interested. Tell this to your best friend too. I am sure you must have told her the whole scenario with lots of extra stuff! Isn't it?"

Julia's face fell when she heard about this. She did realized that I knew what all she must have told told Kate. I was very furious. When we arrived at my place I stormed out of the car and without saying bye to her I banged the car door and marched out.
