A leap of faith

Chapter 12- The changing scenario

That night was really hard. I was sleepless for most of the time. I didn't know how to react to Mike's confession. He liked me and was ready to get into a relationship. I wasn't really ready for this! I didn't want a relationship for now. I was sure of that.

The thing which worried me the most was that my decision will break his heart. And just for the sake of his happiness, I wouldn't have given a positive answer to be in a relationship with him. It would have been unfair. And it surely wouldn't have made us happy.

The feeling of being guilty started to pang. I hated this situation! Nevertheless I tried to sleep and forget about all the worries. I had my seminar the next morning and I had to concentrate on that.

Next morning

Lily: Ready for the seminar?

Me: I don't know. I am tensed. Just pray I don't blabber shit out there!

Lily: Hahaha! Don't worry darling it will be fine!

As I just go to the near by water cooler to have a glass of water to decrease my tension, I notice a faint shadow of someone behind me. I turned back to see it was but the shadow disappeared. I was confused but soon left to my classroom.

After a while seminars started and next was my turn! I was so nervous, my feet were shaking, my hands were cold and in my mind I was blank. Totally blank!

Mrs Brown: The next presentation is going to be delivered by Myra. Best of luck!

I soon find myself walking up to the podium. Yes, still with those shaky legs! I just breathe deeply for a few seconds and start with my presentation. I took around a minute or two to settle down a bit. And to my surprise the presentation which I delivered wasn't that bad. I managed it at the last moment.

Cafeteria

I was hogging on the burgers and chips as if I was famished for an entire century! I was craving for more and more food as I was hungry for the last couple of hours.

As there were no classes ahead we all girls decided to sit here and gossip for a while and head to basket ball court for a friendly match. After a while I noticed my classmate and I joined her table,just for a small talk. While returning to my friends, I notice a guy sitting diagonally on a table continuously staring at me. I get irritated by that stare and I just look straight up to him to find out his identity.

*OH GOD!* That turns out to be Mike!

As I look up to him, he smiles at me. And now things start to get awkward. I wave up to him just to maintain our friendly relations. He greets me and walks up to me.

Mike: "Hey! You were so tensed at the start of your presentation! But I must say you presented really well!"

Me: "You saw my presentation? Didn't you have your baseball coaching?"

Mike:" I didn't go for baseball practice. This was important! I wanted to wish you before the presentation but you left the corridor in a hurry."

*Crap!*

Me: "So you were there near in the corridors following me? Isn't it?"

Mike: *Blushes* " Yes!"

*Why is this happening?! How am I supposed to react? Why is he getting so lovey dovey with me! I do not like it!*

Me: "Mike sorry but I have to go now. Catch up with you later! C ya!"
