A leap of faith

Chapter 28- Mixed emotions

Looking at the last text that I got from Ryan really made me question my vision! Am I hallucinating?  

*Read it again Myra. Read it again!*

It still remains the same. It says "I like you too Myra"

*Whoa!* 

So it does say that he likes me. I really didn't know how to react to a situation like this. One part of me was jumping with joy and the other part which was still sane was not ready to believe to whatever he said.  

How can he like me?! 

Naah.

 Thats not possible.

 He is already committed.

 May be it was just a casual reply. Yes, that seems like it. 

But the other part of me which was rejoicing, had something else to say. The heart is a mischievous organ, it looses sanity and makes us believe things which are never bound to happen. I wouldn't deny the fact that reading his message surely made me happy. But I knew somewhere that this is not leading me anywhere. 

But the heart has a power to conquer the brain. So I was just keeping my sanity in place and praying that the brain doesn't lose out in this battle.

I didn't know what to reply to Ryan's message so I just ended the conversation with a smiley and wished him good night. I kept my cell phone away and wrapped myself under the sheets.

 Next Morning

So he does like me! Yaay!! 

I was just smiling looking at myself in the mirror while fixing my hair.

*Go away! Stupid thoughts!* 

I was fine a day before! Why the hell did I even confess. What a mess have I become! Constantly I am battling with myself. Why I am running for a thing which never can be mine! That ship has sailed long ago.

*No more Ryan thoughts. Yes. This sounds good.*

So with all that mess, I reached college and walked up straight to my class.  It was best to be with myself and not to indulge in anything. 

After a while, I went to library as I had to issue a book for my next assignment which was scheduled for Monday. I was planning to complete all the work before hand as this weekend we had our charity event in which we were participating, so I didn't want my studies to suffer because of the event. 

I walked up the library stairs and I was instantly regretting my decision. 

*Amazing! My lucky stars!*

Ryan was sitting in the library with Julia, Lily and Peter. He was fixing his hair back, this habit of his, is going to make me crazy as I just couldn't help but stare every time he does that! 

*Myra! Stick to the plan! The heart can't overpower your brain!*

Again a battle starts between the heart and the brain.

Heart: "Forget the plan. Look how awesome the man eye candy looks today. Completely dressed up. Blue checked shirt, black trousers, captivating eyes, and an intimidating smile! What else does one need?! This boy gets a 10/10 "

Brain: "I won't fall in the trap. This doesn't lead nowhere. "

Heart: " Foolish brain!"
