A leap of faith

Chapter 2-New friendships

After three tortures long hours of lectures, the day finally came to an end! I look around for Lily, as she had promised me a tour of the campus and to introduce me to some of her friends, making the last three hours worth while. By the end of the day I was completely exhausted, the only thing still functional was my growling stomach.

I follow Lily, hoping that she was leading me to a place where I could calm the raging beast! Suddenly the air filled with an aroma that had my stomach doing the happy dance! I grab Lily's hand and drag her through the doors, my previous exhaustion forgotten.I practically skipped up to the counter, where we both order a burger with fries and a cupcake.

I was already stuffing some fries into my mouth, while Lily located a empty table. We sat down, a comfortable silence enveloped us as we ate our food.

It took me less than 10 minutes to inhale my food, my full stomach oddly comforting. Energy restored, we head towards the cultural hall, that was accomplished in 5 minutes. According to Lily this was the hub of all cultural activities, that ranged from singing, theater and dancing. On the way Lily was telling me about her recent dance performances and the success of the show.

Once we stand in front of the building, the architecture reminded me of the medieval era. The stone walls, with big wooden doors beautifully decorated with dancing figures, at the top of the doors, gargoyles sat frozen, their faces forever frozen in a look of disdain.

The building truly was gorgeous, definitely designed to host grand show cases. I was so engrossed studying the building, that I almost missed Lily going inside. As luck would have it, a rehearsal was taking place. The voices of the performers, bounded off the walls in a seductive symphony.The peacefulness enveloped my senses, the stress of college life quickly drowned out in blissful contentedness.

Lily patted my arm, motioning to the exit. I reluctantly pushed to my feet, the music still drifting around me, almost like it didn't want to let me go. I move out of the seats and started walking up the darkened walkway. I look back one last time and promised myself that I would come back.

I look up to the exit just as the door was pushed open, my feet frozen to the spot.

A guy wearing a beige t-shirt strolled through the doors and I could do nothing, but stare!

I was wondering what about this guy was making it so hard to look away? Could it be that when he smiled a perfect dimple formed on his left cheek, giving him that cutesy-boy-next-door look, which was strange, because he had that rugged bad boy look.

Could it be his eyes? They were a soft golden brown, the type of eyes that captured your soul and held you captive! His hair was a light brown, arrange in a devil may care style that only enhanced his facial features.

I was so busy studying this creature of pure perfection, when I noticed he was walking over to us. I frown as he continues walking to us, I look next to me and saw Lily waving like a loon, of course she would be his friend!

*Oh, Lily! I'll love you forever!*

Lily: "Hey Ryan, how you been?"

He stops in front of us, his face pulled into a carefree smile.

Ryan: "Good good! Who's your new friend?"

*He knows about me?!?! HOW!!*

Me: "Well yeah. Just shifted here a week ago. But wait how do you know all this?" I ask surprisingly

Ryan: "I saw you struggling in the corridors as you were searching for your class early this morning and plus I haven't seen you earlier anywhere in the campus so this led me to an assumption that a new girl has entered the college!"

Me:"Well yes absolutely!" I reply with a smile
