A leap of faith

Chapter 21- Falling a-p-a-r-t

Ryan's POV

As usual after the gym sessions and college routine, all the guys had decided to meet at Peter's home. His place was our usual hideout. He had a big house, where there were no bossy family members who liked to poke in their noses and dig in your personal space . He lived alone and that was his apartment. Though his family lived nearby, they had given him that privilege to be independent. So generous of them I must say.

Though his house wasn't like pretty enormous or lavish but it was very much perfect to host few of the college parties and was a great place to hangout and chill with your buddies! His house boasted of a cozy living room,a kitchen and two bed rooms, a small patio which was the best spot of his apartment

Around in the evening, I reached Peter's place. As I was parking my bike and walking up to his doorstep,I heard someone cursing loud, I wondered what happened. I quickly went inside and saw most of the guys had already reached and were glued to the sports channel showcasing an upcoming football game. The guys were divided in to two teams and each team was supporting and cheering there favorite team and of course cursing the opponents! I laughed at that scene and greeted them.

I entered his patio and saw that my mains had already gathered and were relaxing together. They were chatting briefly about something.

Me: " Hey! What did I miss?"

Peter:" Hey bud! Free tomorrow?"

Me:" What for?"

Mike: " Well I wanna take you guys out for a movie. My treat! "

Me: " Okay! I am in! Thanks"

Mike:" Cool then. Its done. Tomorrow morning we are going to see the action movie which we all waiting for! I just need to inform girls"

Smith:" Cool. Girls will be still in college for the dance practice. Let's meet them in the cafeteria"

Mike: " Sounds good. I'll text them."

I drive towards the college and park my bike. I walk up to the cafeteria with soothing music to accompany me as I had plugged in the earphones. The boys just arrive in time and we all sit in the cafeteria waiting for the girls.

They reach in a few minutes and we decide about the movie. The girls seem to be quite pleased with Mike, as now they can see there favorite actor. Oh yes, and that to shirtless as they demand it to be. The girls are practically drooling over the actor.

I really do not like the way Myra is talking about that actor. The sparkle in her eyes and that ear to ear smile is really making me uncomfortable. I mean yes I like that she is happy but I don't know there is a pang of jealousy in me.

*Its okay. He is an actor. Obviously girls are going to be smitten by him!*

I was narrowing my eyes and watching her as she was still talking about that actor. I really had to control myself as I didn't want to get into any argument with her and overall it wasn't her fault!

I woke up early the next morning, took a quick shower, chose a simple V-neck shirt and paired it with my denims. I walked up to my basement parking,started my bike. The usual thumping sound of my bike was a treat to my ears. I rode and reached the theater. I walked up inside and saw someone flashing a warm smile- Myra.

She waved at me and I walked up to her. She was head to toe excited about the movie. I guess we were the first ones to reach. I asked her if we could go and grab some coffee to get rid of the morning sickness. And she instantly agreed.

I was a bit worried as Julia was also accompanying us, and I suspected that Myra would be a bit uncomfortable, so I asked her about it. And she really didn't seem to bother about Julia which was a good sign.It was better to avoid Julia. After while we went inside the theater as everyone had arrived.We began to grab our places. We were almost walking in a line in the aisle and Myra froze in between, she wasn't ready to move. I tried to see past her and saw that her seat was next to Mike. He had a wide smile on his face and was quite satisfied. I could understand why Myra was reluctant so I decided to sit next to Mike. And I did so. She was extremely delighted and quite honestly I was satisfied too. Soon thereafter everyone was so engrossed in the movie that we lost the track of time.

After the movie I was hanging out with Peter. And after a while my phone rang. It was Kate. I picked it up. She started to interrogate me about the movie. I was happily answering her questions for a minute or two. And I realized that something is wrong, she was cross checking me. I was ready to answer all her questions, not once but for a thousand times too. Just I demanded an inch of trust for me. She suspected that as me and Myra were sitting next to each other, we were getting cozy in the theater! I mean how ridiculous is it! Why would I do that. Its true that she was sitting next me but there was a specific reason for that.

I thought Kate would defend me and won't pay attention to Julia's piece of shit. But nothing of that sort happened. She started to lose out the trust and believe in what was Julia was portraying. Julia has been manipulating things lately. Which I hated, most of all it felt as if I have been in some strange dark world where the people whom I had believe had started to cease their trust on me. I didn't understand, was it so easy for her to lose out all the trust on me?! This felt like a back stab! Everything was ruined and we were surely falling apart.
