A/N Okay, so I know I haven't been updating alot. But thats only because its hectic here. My brother's birthday was on 6/10 (same as Britt's sister!!) and his party was yesterday. I had to go there. It was terrible. Like a thousand screaming six year olds were there. And I have exams :(. Kill me now. Anyways, here's your update. Yes, its only 853 words, but at least its an update, right?

Riley pov

"C'mon Em!!" I yell, from the bottom of the stairs. She's driving me to dance today.

"Riley?" Mom asked confused.

"Yeah, mom?" I replied.

"Emily's at Stephanie's. She slept over. Don't you remember?" Mom explained. How could I have been such an idiot?!

"Oh yeah!" I exclaim, then I realise what that means. "I'll have to walk, then."

"Have a nice day, honey." Mom says. "And remember, school starts tomorrow. So home by 8."

"Got it. Bye." I sigh, walking out the door. This is exactly what I needed. School. I'm starting grade 11. (A/N Yeah yeah. She's 17. Let's say that grade 11 are 16. Btw James is grade 12. So he's 18.) I'm a junior now. And that means exams, hard work and lots of studying. I've never had a problem with school. And I actually enjoy it. But not right now.

Before I know it, I'm standing at the studio's door. I go into studio A. Everybody else is there. Even James stood there, leaning on the ballet bar, smirking. I glare at him, put my bag in my cubby and start stretching.

"Oh, so when Riley's late nobody calls her out?" James says to Emily. "You know, I tried very hard not to be late today."

"Just, shut it, James." I snap.

"Yeah, please do." Emily says.

"Certainly no special treatment there." He mutters, loud enough for everyone to hear. "And I interrupted a make out session for this? Huh, never again."

"Shut up." Emily says, through gritted teeth.

"But Rileys late, and you said that wasn't tolerated." He smirks.

"Once again, shut up." Emily crosses her arms over her chest.

"Whatever, its not worth it." He says and rolls his eyes. I don't know why, but that sentence just got to me. I feel that that sentence sums up our whole relationship to him. Not worth it. I hate him.

"So, as I WAS saying, we are going to be doing duets." Kate says. "You can all pick your own partners. James, Riley, my office."

I sigh, as Kate leads us to her office. I sit down on one of the couches, facing her desk.

"Sup?" James asks.

"You guys need to reconnect." She says. "I know its hard with.. what happened, but I'm sure you guys can suck it up. For the team, at least. That's why you guys are going to be doing the duet together."

"No way." I say. "Me and James are on good terms. We're fine."

"We are?" He asks, I nudge him. "Oh, yeah. We are."

"Nice try." She says. "You guys are doing the duet, its not a question."

"Ugh, fine." I roll my eyes.

"I'm looking forward to spending time with you too, princess." He smiles.

"Whatever." I say, before going into studio A again.

James pov

I mean, doing the duet with Riley's gonna be fine. Yes, it may cause minor drama, but I do want to 'reconnect' with her. I still do love her.

After rehearsals, Beth comes walking in.

"Hey, babe." She says.

"Hi, Beth." I smile.

"So, wanna hang out? Maybe a date?" She asks.

"Id love to. But I can't, I have diet rehearsals." I say.

"Aw, too bad. Who with?" She pouts.

"Uh, Riley." I say, causing her to roll her eyes at Riley, who is teaching across the room.

"Goodbye kiss?" She asks.

"Course, baby." I say. She pecks me on the lips and goes out.

"Ew." Riley says. "I can't believe we used to make people feel this way."

"Haha, we had some good times, didn't we?" I chuckle, remembering all the memories we shared.

"I guess so." She mutters, fiddling with her ring. "So, let's get started."

"Yeah." I sigh.

"So, how about we start at the corner?" She suggests.

"Yeah, then we can do a Boat Lift, or even better, a Fish Dive?" I say.

A/N Names of lifts that I googled:).

"Uh, no. Maybe if I perioutte and you tumble, that'll be better?" She nervously says.

"Why? Doing a Fish Dive at the beginning would be awesome." I argue.

"Yeah, but.."

"But what, Ri?"

"You might.. drop me."

"Are you serious? We've done this millions of times. I'll never drop you, Riley. Ever."

"That's what I thought too." She says, tears in her eyes. I feel so terrible, wait no that isn't the word, broken. I feel broken. Seeing her like this.

"Riley," I whisper.

"Don't," She says, crying now. "You kn-know what, I-I j-just need a minute."

She ran out of the room.

"Riley, I'm here for you." I whisper, tears filling my eyes. "I love you."
